How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

Ensuring a cat’s safety during sitting is my top priority, and I take several steps to make sure they’re comfortable and secure. First, I always have a detailed conversation with the cat’s owner to understand their specific needs, routines, and any medical or behavioral considerations. I maintain a clean and hazard-free environment, checking for any small objects or plants that might pose risks. During each visit, I monitor their food, water, and litter closely to make sure they’re eating well and staying hydrated. I also ensure all doors, windows, and exits are securely closed, especially if the cat is curious or prone to sneaking around! Finally, I’m always reachable by phone or message, keeping owners updated with photos and reports so they can feel confident their cat is safe and well-cared for.

Cancellation Policy

Customers may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a 100% refund and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Customers will receive a 100% refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Customers will receive a 50% refund and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the customer cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.

We are proud to provide each of our independently-contracted Meowtel cat sitters with the full benefits of our Meowtel Promise on eligible reservations. For reservations where each visit is at or above $20 and paid for through Meowtel, your cat(s) will automatically be covered under our insurance policy in the event that things don't go as planned.

If you are not fully satisfied with your sitter after the Meet & Greet or during the reservation, please call 1-844-636-9835 so we can help you re-book with a new sitter to ensure we can deliver on our purrfect hospitality promise.
