The Itty Bitty Kitty

My love affair with cats started from the very beginning. Try as they might with "mama" and "dada", my parents were pushed aside in favor of "kitty" as my first word. Since then, cats have been my world as lifelong pets, single night boarders who come and go, foster kittens with nowhere else to go, and all the one-off friends along the way.

I have recently reached my ten-year mark of pet sitting, having started in high school. While I can no longer accept cats into my own home, as one of my cats is immunocompromised, I treat all my charges as if my own and all homes with complete respect. I welcome the multiple pages of instruction and requests for daily updates because that is exactly what I do when I leave my cats in the care of another.

My professional background is also in animal welfare, in veterinary medicine and shelters. Shy, fractious, play-all-day, I have seen them all and I love them.
