Meow! I am Chelsea, a cat sitter in Olympia, WA

Hello! I'm a Meowtel cat sitter serving the Olympia/Lacey/Tumwater area in Thurston county. I adore every cat, and never miss a chance to get to know them! I love all their different breeds, sounds, clumsy ninja tendencies, and personalities.

Your kitties will be in good hands with me. I will ensure they always have fresh food and water, a clean litter box, and as much play time and attention as they feel comfortable with. I am detail oriented and will follow your instructions for their care to the letter. You can expect plenty of updates, photos, and videos to let you know your fuzzy friends are happy and safe.

I am fully vaccinated and boosted. I will wear my N95 mask for the duration of our Meet & Greet and any interaction we have in person. I have never caught COVID-19 and it is very important to me to follow all recommended safety protocols of masking, social distancing, washing hands etc to protect each other throughout the entire process. I am happy to show you my COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card upon request.

I have owned and loved cats since receiving my first kitten for my 5th birthday. My family has had several cats over the years since then, and after I finished college I got my very own sweet girl -- Famke, a ruddy Somali kitten who was my affectionate constant companion for 15 years. Having owned her for so long, I had occasions to bring her to the vet, give her a bath, give her oral medication, administer flea drops, and so on. I had her spayed, kept her indoors, and never had her declawed, nor would I ever declaw a cat; her health and safety were my #1 priority. Instead I successfully trained her since kittenhood not to claw the furniture, and it worked! I currently have two ruddy Somali kitten littermates, Ole and Einar, who I love to pieces.

I go for walks regularly around my neighborhood in Tumwater, which I often refer to as going on cat patrol. I always look for new and old neighborhood cats, and have been successful at befriending them and learning all of their names. As a bonafide cat person, I understand the sounds, facial expressions, and body language of cats -- when they are curious, scared, excited, and so on. There are right and wrong ways to approach a cat, and negative reactions are never the answer; they seem to prefer when I can become small, crouch down to their level, and gently invite them to visit. No matter their temperament, I am always thrilled absolutely every time I see a cat, and am pretty good at getting them to like me too. Cats are all very unique, they have boundaries just like people, and when we intuit what they are we can always get along!

In addition to caring for my own cats for 15+ years, I have offered my services as a cat sitter to friends on several occasions. This has included young kittens, senior cats, and every age in-between. I cleaned their litter box every day, made sure they had fresh food and water, played as much as they wanted, or simply offered my lap as a cozy spot for a nap. And I truly enjoyed every moment that I was entrusted with them. Cats are part of the family too, and should be treated as such.

When I'm not making new feline friends, I work full time doing QA testing for the WA Department of Fish & Wildlife, 8 AM - 5 PM, M-F from home. Famke made the best micromanager as she hovered over me on my computer chair, sat right in front of my monitor and keyboard, and helped distract me from work.

I can't wait to meet your kitty companions.
