Meow! I am Barbara, a Cat sitter in Portland, OR

** Due to the COVID-19 pandemic I am not accepting new clients, and certain accommodations may be limited to reduce surface touching and keep everyone, including your cats, as safe and healthy as possible; I will be wearing a face mask at all times**

I am not able to be flexible on visit times during work days (M-F) and I CANNOT do 45 minute visits in the mornings.

-Morning visits (M-F) must be done at ~7:00am and may only be scheduled for 20 minutes.

-Once per day visits are typically in the evening ~6:00pm and may be 20 or 45 minutes (unless absolutely required to be done in the morning, then may only be 20 minutes).

-Twice per day visits are typically between 7-9am & then again between 7-9pm; morning visits must be 20 minutes, evening visits may be either 20 or 45 minutes.

I generally start each visit by greeting your cat(s) and making sure they are healthy and happy. I then run through whatever normal tasks you've asked me to complete: feeding, watering, and litter scooping. Afterwards, I'll start whatever additional tasks you've asked for: checking the mail, watering plants, feeding the fish. Whatever time is leftover after all the tasks are complete I will spend petting, cuddling and playing with your cat(s). Some cats don't want to play or are shy, so I may just sit in the room and talk to them. I never push your cat to do more than they are comfortable with because I think it's important that they stay stress free while you're away! I let your cat decide how much or how little they want to interact.

I have 15+ years of animal husbandry experience, including 6 years working in veterinary medicine for OHSU. I have a ton of background in the behavior and health requirements of cats and I'm comfortable administering medications if necessary... but mostly I just want to cuddle with your cat for a while! I love cats and I started cat sitting as more of a hobby than anything else; I truly just enjoy doing it! I have a kitty of my own named Spud, and I also have a big, slobbery, spoiled dog named Axel.

I have a full-time job and I do cat sitting for fun on the side. Therefore, I do not like to commit to more than one client at a time. This is the best way for me to make sure your cat is getting the absolute best care. Because of this, you may see limited availability on my calendar. If the date you need doesn't appear available, please message me. I may be able to work something out for you!

I am not accepting new clients. Please message me if you need an urgent exception.
