What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I have been an unofficial cat sitter for many friends for over 20 years. I’ve owned cats my entire adult life, so I understand the importance of this.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I love all cats so I think it’s fun to meet new cats and I like being able to help other people. Make sure that their animals are safe while they’re gone.
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
I haven’t done this for pay yet, but I had a friend who I cats sit for regularly and one of her cats would follow me around as I emptied litter boxes and filled food bowls, and turn lights on and off, and he would meow the entire time, he clearly wanted affection so eventually after I did all my chores, I would sit and give him lots of love.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
Vincent van Gogh and Jon Snow. Vincent is seven and Jon Snow is eight.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
Hire someone who takes it seriously. Although cats don’t need to be tended to every single day, if someone has paid for that service then that is what they should get.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
Make sure that I lay eyes on the cat(s), unless the owner has specified that the cat will stay hidden. Make a point of checking main living area for anything that might indicate a problem. Alternate which lights are left on. Make absolutely sure the door is locked.
Are you usually available during holidays?
It depends. I’m available for many holidays. My plans change every year depending on what my grown children are doing. I usually know several months in advance.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I have a good track record with socializing stray kittens, and I have learned that it is important to sit and be patient and let them come to you so I often grab a book and a cup of coffee or my phone and just sit there, letting them come to me on their own time schedule. It usually doesn’t take long before they get too curious and have to come and sniff me.

i was in a desperate situation. i went to the ER and was admitted to the hospital. my very first concern was omy who is going to take care of my four cats?! my cats are like kids to me! i needed someone within 24 hours in my home immediately to feed, water, and scoop their litter boxes. after a thorough search from my hospital bed i decided on meowtel...bc it was vip to me that my sitter be a cat person. that is when i found lee...she understood the urgency in my need to get a sitter in my home asap... so she made herself available the very next day! i told her my cats were stranger shy and would probably hide under my bed. but to my surprise they all came out to see her and ava even let her pet her some...lee fed my cats, gave fresh water and scooped their litterbox. but lee even went above and beyond and took my garbage out for me. i had left my house forgetting to take it out so when lee got there she texted me to let me know it was smelling so she would take it out. i so appreciate this bc i didnt want my cats to have to smell that either. bc we cat people know they like clean everything. so i came home to happy cats and a clean smelling home. lee really saved me during this crisis situation. lee sent me pictures of my cats during her visits and it brought me so much peace knowing they were okay. 💜 i will definitely be calling lee again and highly recommend her 😇😇😇

Lee is the only person I trust to take care of my cats if I have to be away from them. When she's watching them, I know they are actually being taken care of beyond just being fed and having the litterbox cleaned. She spends time loving on them and playing with them. I have a few cats that are on the shyer side, so Lee always goes the extra mile to make them comfortable so that they can also come out and be loved. She loves cats and it shows even when she's taking care of other people's pets.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.
