While all cats can enjoy overnight care, some particularly benefit from the extended presence of a sitter.
For extended trips, consider combining overnight stays with daytime drop-in visits.
From one-night stays to extended coverage, our overnight cat sitting service provides peace of mind for both you and your beloved kitties.
An overnight cat sitting visit includes at least 12 hours of care, with the sitter staying overnight in your home. The total duration may vary based on your sitter's schedule and your mutual agreement. During the stay, your sitter will provide:
Additionally, sitters can help with light household duties, such as bringing in the mail or watering plants. However, please note that our sitters are not specifically vetted for their ability to care for houseplants or other pets beyond cats. Feel free to discuss any specific preferences or expectations directly with your sitter before booking to ensure your cat's care is tailored to their needs.
Overnight care can be a great option depending on your cat's needs and personality. Here are some scenarios to help you decide:

Yes, sitters can administer medications during an overnight stay, but it depends on the sitter's experience and qualifications. While many of our sitters are comfortable handling medications, not all are qualified to administer every type of medication. For example, some sitters may be experienced with oral medications or injections, while others may have expertise only with inhalers and ointments.
You can filter sitters by their medication experience when booking and choose one that matches your cat's needs. We recommend discussing your cat's medication schedule, instructions, and the level of difficulty with your sitter in advance to ensure they are comfortable with the tasks. This way, both you and your sitter can agree on a plan that works for your cat's specific needs.
An overnight stay typically lasts a minimum of 12 hours, beginning in the evening and ending the next morning. However, the exact timing can vary depending on the agreement between you and your sitter. If you have specific schedule requirements, such as a different start or end time, or if your sitter has any availability constraints, these details can be discussed and adjusted to suit both parties.
Be sure to communicate your preferred timing when booking to ensure the overnight stay fits your cat's routine and your sitter's schedule.
To ensure your sitter has everything they need for a smooth stay, here are a few things you may want to prepare:
By preparing these basics, you can help your sitter focus on providing the best care for your cat during their overnight visit.
If your cat experiences a serious emergency during an overnight stay, your sitter will take your cat to the vet listed on your Vet Release Form. If the Vet Release Form has not been completed, the sitter and/or Meowtel will contact you immediately to get guidance on where to take your cat for care.
For any urgent situations, Meowtel's support team is available to assist as well. You can reach us by calling 1-844-MEOWTEL or emailing [email protected]. Rest assured, we are committed to ensuring your cat receives the care they need.
