I have been professionally sitting for almost three years now. I specialize in cats of all ages, as well as small critters and freshwater fish. I am experienced in reading all ranges of kitty body language and cues, and I will always respect your cat’s boundaries... Hello! I’m Sarah - a crafter, gamer, and avid cat enthusiast located in Modesto with a passion for cat care! Outside of my work and at-home hobbies, I am also actively involved in the TNR community and spend much of my free time trying to improve the quality of life for all kitties who inhabit our city.
I have been professionally sitting for almost three years now. I specialize in cats of all ages, as well as small critters and freshwater fish. I am experienced in reading all ranges of kitty body language and cues, and I will always respect your cat’s boundaries. I have experience administering pills, powders, liquids, insulin injections, and subcutaneous fluids.
My ultimate goal is to provide peace of mind when you leave your pet as I know how nerve wracking it can be! When booking with me, I can guarantee:

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I love winning over the most timid of cats and getting to witness so many unique personalities. I also find a lot of satisfaction in being a cat specialized sitter as cat owners seem to appreciate finding me in such a dog-centric industry!
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I have three cats! Oxford, 3, I adopted from someone who had taken in a pregnant stray when he was a kitten. He is a goofball who is scared of his own shadow and has the biggest personality. I have also independently rescued two cats since moving to Modesto, Marvin and Eve (approximately 1.5 years old). I lost 2 cats in 2022 which is what led me to start sitting, and also provided me with much of my beginner medical experience as they were on hospice care at home. Their names were Oliver and Kitty and I miss them dearly.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
I prefer to enter through double-barrier entry-points (such as a garage or mud room) where I can close an exterior door before opening the interior door of the house to prevent any door dashers. However, many homes don't have a set up like this so I always enter quickly and use my body to block any gaps that could be used as an escape route. I always count cats before I leave and get them occupied by throwing a treat or toy while I make my exit as well. I always double-check that all doors are locked and any electronics/appliances are turned off!
What is your favorite cat toy?
I have found such great success with the Cat Dancer and Purr-peller for my own guy.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
Patience. I've found that moving slowly, sitting on the floor, and tossing treats/food while avoiding eye contact can put timid and anxious kitties at ease. Never forcing them out of hiding spots. Cat TV has also won over a few kitties in the past!

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:
- January 1-4: New Year's 2026
- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th
- September 4-10: Labor Day
- October 9-15: Columbus Day / Indigenous Peoples' Day
- November 8-14: Veterans Day
- November 23-29: Thanksgiving
- December 22-28: Christmas
- December 29-31: New Year's 2027

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Modesto cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $30.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
