From that experience I got the opportunity to work with special needs kitties (blind cats, cats with CH), at risk kittens (underweight kittens, dire rescue situations) as well as senior cats! So I've really seen a wide variety of cat behaviors and types. I'm also very versed in cat body language and cat play, knowing that not all cats have claw awarness :)
I'm able to administer any oral medication, ointment as needed. I'm also versed in specialized diets and the need for a cat to stay hydrated!

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I currently have one cat, his name is Pauz and he's a lovely rescue! Pauz found us on the street, as he once had owners that unfortunately left him behind when they moved, so I fed him when I saw him and then once he was comfortable I adopted him and got him to the vet. He's now a very spoiled indoor boy that's fed a wide array of wet food on rotation and has his very own space!

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

When I meet a new cat parent for the first time, I establish all of the perimeters of care: what's the feeding schedule, how many litter boxes, is there any medications to be administered, and what does a typical day look like for your cat? After all of that is established and if the cat parent is comfortable with me, I then go on to find out about their preferred vet, carrier situation, and emergency contacts. I also ask for preferred way of care (would you like me to simply feed the cat and clean their litter box or is your cat a snuggler that needs companionship time?) In essence, I try to make the owners absence not noticeable to the cat by maintaining as close of a routine as I can.

Are you usually available during holidays?

My holiday availability is typically open for drop in visits and some overnights! As long as I can step away for a few hours to celebrate the holidays with my family, you can be sure that your furry friend is being lovingly cared for the entire time I'm with them.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

In my previous experiences, cats that are timid or anxious require space, time, patience and positive reinforcements. I keep myself in the room with the cat but at a distance so that theyre not threatened by my presence, and I throw out treats towards them so they can start making the correlation that I'm not a threat and there to provide good things. If the treat trick doesnt work, I simply provide them space but remain in the room so that they get accustomed to my scent.

Kat has been a wonderful find! She kind and attentive to our girls. One has dietary issues, but she followed the recipe like a Meowchelin Star Chef! The other is nervous with new people but nuzzled her anyway. 💕

Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.

All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
