What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I’ve been caring for cats since I was a child, and like my daughter, we are naturally drawn to the personalities and quirks of cats. I work with all personalities and temperaments, from confident social butterflies to shy, anxious, senior, and special-needs cats. Over the decades, I’ve developed a deep understanding of feline behavior, body language, and emotional needs. This allows me to create a calm, safe, and trusting environment in every home I visit. My long-term experience means I am quick to notice subtle changes in behavior, appetite, or routine and respond thoughtfully and responsibly. Whether your cat needs playful engagement, quiet companionship, medication support, or simply a familiar presence while you’re away, I bring steady, compassionate care backed by decades of hands-on experience. I also have 25 years in cardiology as a clinical rep and educator, and began medical field in the military.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

My daughter (14) and I have three cats, one male (Sokka, <1yr), two females (Jinxy 10, Sabrina 4). Jinxy is shorthair tortoiseshell and bottom-heavy diva. She lives in her own separate space, and we open the door when she’s ready to mingle. Sabrina is longhaired black Turkish Angora and is know to be the ring-leader of any attacks against Jinxy, whether that be directly or indirectly - Sabrina manipulates the male cats of the house. Sokka is our little tuxedo man. He has the ability to break hearts and any breakable item left on the counter. He explores every nook & cranny. He is super smart and agile, very active & inquisitive just like Kismet, who passed away before Sokka arrived.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

I begin by learning your cat’s routine, personality, and any special needs so I can tailor my care to what makes your cat feel safest and most comfortable. On my first visit, I move slowly and calmly, letting your cat set the pace and never forcing interaction. Each visit follows a consistent routine: fresh food and water, litter care, a quick wellness and home check, then relaxed companionship or play if your cat is open to it. I keep visits unhurried and peaceful, always paying close attention to your cat’s body language and cues. Throughout your time away, I provide thoughtful updates and photos so you can feel confident your cat is happy, comfortable, and in caring hands.
