I just moved here from the Bay Area. I love cats and I’ve spent a great deal of the last 10 years fostering and volunteering at various rescue organizations. I’ve fostered rambunctious kittens and shut down adults and I’ve helped out at feral colonies when their caretakers take much needed breaks.

As far as I’m concerned, all cats have their own quirks and foibles that make them unique and special—I appreciate the shy ones just as much as the social butterflies. I’ve had the privilege of taking care of three wonderful elderly cats until their time across the rainbow bridge so I’m pretty well versed on giving medication—I’m good with pills, liquids, eye meds and even IV fluids. I’ve got two young cats of my own now (kitten foster fails) and I really dread leaving them when I travel. I definitely know the importance of daily updates and photos because, when I’m traveling, I look forward to them as well.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I’m pretty new to cat sitting but I’m not new to taking care of cats. I’ve fostered kittens for Oakland Animal Services and older cats for Full Circle Cats (formerly Feral Change). I’m a frequent traveler so I’ve been a big employer of cat sitters and I know the peace of mind a conscientious sitter can bring.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I have two cats. They were part of a little family I helped rescue and TNR for Full Circle Cats. We trapped a tortie mom and 5 kittens in the parking garage of a San Leandro dental office. Mom was spayed and released and I fostered the 5 kittens. They all got “Dental” names: Novocaine, Flossie, Ginger-Vitus (Vito for short!), Ruth Canal and X-Ray. We got the first three adopted and I ended up keeping Ruthie and Ray. They are the first non-senior cats I’ve had in a long time and it’s nice to get some rambunctious energy in the house.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
I recently retired from a high stress, high responsibility career in air traffic control, to move in with and care for a family member with medical issues. I know the importance of making sure doors and windows are secure so our wandering friends stay safe. Since relocating, I’ve become pretty adept at small home repairs and I know how to handle the surprises that often arise in the running of a house that isn’t your own.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
