Cat Sitting in Salinas, CA
I have experience with cats who are shy, slow to warm up, or particular about their routines, and I know how to respectfully manage their space, body language, and environment to keep them feeling safe and stress-free... I’m new to Meowtel, but I’ve been caring for cats my whole life! I grew up with cats and am comfortable caring for them at all ages, temperaments, and comfort levels.
I have experience with cats who are shy, slow to warm up, or particular about their routines, and I know how to respectfully manage their space, body language, and environment to keep them feeling safe and stress-free.
I’m currently working as an intern with the Monterey Bay Aquarium’s Sea Otter Rescue and Rehabilitation Team, so caring for animals is quite literally what I do every day!
I’ve cared for kittens through senior and hospice cats, and I’m comfortable administering medications, trimming nails, and supporting specialized care needs. Whether your cat is playful, reserved, reactive, senior, or needs a little extra patience, I’m experienced in tailoring my care to match their personality and routine.
I love enrichment play, slow trust-building, and making sure your cat feels safe, understood, and well cared for while you’re away.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I’ve had cats my entire life growing up and have always been very comfortable caring for them. I also regularly looked after friends’ and family members’ cats and dogs throughout middle school, high school, and college, which gave me experience with a wide range of personalities, routines, and care needs.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I two cats, Moose and Lenny. Moose is black and white in a cow-pattern way! I met him while I was living in Honduras for three months while diving, and completely fell in love with him. I ended up bringing him back to the US with me, and he’s been the best adventure buddy ever since. Lenny is a black, tuxedo girl and is a shelter rescue!
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
I take both cat and home safety very seriously while cat sitting. I’m very mindful about entry and exit routines, making sure cats are accounted for before opening doors, and I never leave doors or windows open. I also double-check that food, plants, cords, or small objects that could be unsafe are out of reach. I closely follow each owner’s care instructions, including feeding schedules, medications, and any specific safety notes about the home or cat’s behavior. I keep litter boxes clean, monitor appetite and behavior, and will flag anything unusual right away. Communication is also a big part of safety for me, I provide regular updates and photos so owners know their cat is doing well while while they’re away.

Ellie has always loved animals and has a special bond with them. Some people are natural animal whisperers and I feel Ellie is one. Ellie is very responsible and takes excellent care of animals in her charge, treating them as though they are her own. Ellie has had cats her entire life and has a soft spot for them. Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:

- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Salinas cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $30.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Ellie is a true cat lover and amazing caretaker. She has shelter and vet experience, as well as at home sitting experience.
