Cat Sitting in New Britain, CT
After graduating high school, I decided to rescue a 15-year-old male stray named Dunkin. Fun fact: he had no teeth! Over time, I rescued two more kittens. Then I met this guy I liked enough to move in with (my partner Nathan!), and his fat Maine Coon joined our family. Half a year later, we recused a dog and ANOTHER cat... When I was 6 years old, I discovered that a hot dog was enticing enough to lure the neighborhood stray into my parents' home. After a few visits, I named him Whiskers (original, I know). I LOVED his visits, but they were never consistent. I made it my goal to learn everything about cats and convince my Mom to rescue one. I read any cat book I could find—bonus points if the book came with a CD. About a year later, I got my first female kitten.
After graduating high school, I decided to rescue a 15-year-old male stray named Dunkin. Fun fact: he had no teeth! Over time, I rescued two more kittens. Then I met this guy I liked enough to move in with (my partner Nathan!), and his fat Maine Coon joined our family. Half a year later, we recused a dog and ANOTHER cat. I'd love to take in many more animals, but space and funds are limited. One of my current cats has costly GI issues and requires daily medications. I've grown very comfortable with administering oral medications and monitoring their behavior, stool, and eating habits. Side note: I’m not afraid of bathing a cat or trimming nails, if needed!
I'm sharing this to show you the kind of animal lover I truly am. I've spent years learning about our furry friends to make my cats as happy as possible and to share my passion with others. If money was no object, I’d love to open my own Cat Cafe one day. Cats + coffee = happy.
Some of my career history includes working as a pharmacy technician, a financial aid advisor, and a lab research assistant. What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I’ve been cat sitting for years and absolutely love it. I’ve only ever had one instance with an aggressive cat, but managed to dance around those angry paws during my visits. I’ve also had the pleasure of feeding some other pets during my cat sitting visits, including fish & rabbits!
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
Yes, two very energetic felines names Cora & Dallas. Those girls will run up, down, left, and right before falling asleep in your lap. The male Maine Coon we have is more like the evil stepson, but I love him anyway. His name is Pooh. We just recently rescued another black cat - his name is Jinx! Bonus fun fact: we have a lab mix named Baron 🐾 and some tetras, catfish, snails, + guppies 🐠
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
Don’t be afraid to over explain expectations and ask us questions. Your pets are your family! It’s normal to feel anxious about leaving them with a stranger - I strongly recommend investing in cameras if you have not done so already for peace of mind.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
Because I am a professional, I open the front door very slowly and throw my body through the crack in order to keep all animals inside and eliminate chances of escaping. In all seriousness, I will always scan the floors for any snow salt, bugs, or forgein objects that a cat may want to consume. Always check for loose strings, hanging tags, or choking hazards. Confirm food is fresh and not expired. Double check windows and door locks before leaving the home. I’ll always apply the same attention & anxiety I have for my own cats to my clients cats - I honestly can’t help it.
Are you usually available during holidays?
Yes, I'd rather be home with my pets anyways… Did I say that outloud? Oops!
What is your favorite cat toy?
A cat wand! Or catnip bubbles… seriously, try them.

I had full peace of mind leaving my cat, Thumbi in Ashley’s care during my vacation. Ashley clipped Thumbi’s nails and even got extra cat food when it looked like it would run out before I was back. Ashley was very communicative which I appreciated. Overall a great experience and would definitely book with her again!

I'm so happy to have found Ashley to watch my 2 cats. She clearly cares about animals a lot and I felt completely comfortable leaving my cats in her hands. Ashley was an amazing cat sitter for my 2 boys! she kept me updated on when she was going to head over there, she took before and after pics of food and litter so I knew how much my little guys were eating and sent videos of them playing and having a great time! one of my cats needs a little over the counter arthritis treat every other day or so but gets picky with how it’s presented lol Ashley was patient and amazing at accommodating to what my kitty needed so that he would be willing to eat it! she went above and beyond asking if I needed the mail taken in or the garbage cans taken out, really taking the worry and weight off my shoulders and was able to enjoy my vacation knowing my boys and house were in good hands! 10/10 would recommend definitely will be hiring Ashley when we go one another trip.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

New Britain cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $24.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
