What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I have been a cat sitter for over 20 years mainly in Miami Florida where I am originally from. Then I moved to Colorado where I continued to petsit because it's been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember. Cats are very special to me.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I love how every cat that I meet has a different purrsonality. I have an amazing positive energy that cats just love me once they get to know me. I enjoy playing with them and watching them chase around toys. I absolutely love to hear them purrr with happiness and for me it's just like being around my own cats, just show them ❤️ Love and respect.

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

In one of my Mami cat sitting homes , I had the pleasure of watching 2 cats named Milo and Charlie and these 2 cats were so sweet. The owner would tell me that they never approached humans the way the came up to me. Charlie would immediately start to purr and just curl up on my lap. Milo would also just do circles around my legs. They just sensed a good human was there to cat sit them. They also would both bring me a toy to play. It was always so special to go to this house and I could be there for hours if I could. I would actually go over the time limit and didn't mind at all because any extra love from a Cat was all I needed.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I have 3 tabbies. Dill and Pickle which are rescued brothers and our latest addition also rescued named Zoey. They all get along and love each other so much. The brothers welcomed Zoey right away. Also because my house has so much LOVE that my 3 cats and 1 dog know nothing else but true genuine love. All 3 cats have been rescued and adopted from Cat Haven in Colorado Springs.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

Always make sure they have good reviews and that they are insured. How long have they been catsitting and if they have cats of their own. Make sure they follow instructions and write down every detail that you give them as well as pictures and videos.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

I start off with a meet and greet so we can meet in person and I can see their house and meet the kitties. First thing I will ask for is a detailed list of instructions on food, meds, water area, litter box area, where do I dispose the poop, emergency contacts, vet information. Favorite toys and treats. Any specific areas that they may hide. Anything unusual that I should know about. I will also send pics and videos at every visit and keep them informed that everything is OK. I want to to have a piece of mind and relax while away.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

Any fence or doors that enter I make sure they are securely locked behind me. On my way out I also make sure to look around that there are no cats to then shut the door. I will set the alarm if I'm given those instructions. I also make sure there are no escape routes, dangerous items on counters like meds, or cleaning supplies, toxic plants or any loose wires. I don't like any toys with long ropes or strings to be left out while no one is home. I make sure bowls all bowls are always filled up with clean fresh water as well as dried food if they instruct me to leave out. Litter boxes will be cleaned daily.

Are you usually available during holidays?

Yes I am available but tend to get booked by October for Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.

What is your favorite cat toy?

My cats love spiral plastic toys, tiny stuffed mice and any stick with strings attached

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I give them their space if they see me and run off. I let them hear my soft voice and my smell. I allow them to come to me. I will try treats and toys and I will also play soft music until they get use to my presence. I will never run after them or force them in anyway.
