I also volunteer at the Coastal Cat Cafe when able and help with the cats there with medicine administration and checks. I have raised a cat from day 2 of being born when its mother rejected them. One cat of ours has herpes so we have to give medicine when she has flare ups and manage her stress and another one of our cats has tummy issues so we have to monitor that and make sure she is on a set diet to good flare ups. I absolutely love cats and feel so much compassion for them, I keep a bag of cat food in my truck just incase I come across any strays. I treat all cats as if they’re my own and do any and everything I can to take care of them.

Learn More About David

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I have never done it in this type of setting, but I have watched friends cats when they have gone on vacations and etc.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

Being able to meet new cats and experience their personalities. I love how much personality cats actually have that most people don’t see if they themselves aren’t a cat owner.

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

I have yet to have an official cat sitting reservation through the app but I have watched friends and families animals before.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I do, we have 5, Pumbaa, Mina, Felix, Cleo, and Rei. They’re all amazing and have such different personalities it’s fantastic.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

Don’t rush, if you meet a potential sitter and you just feel like something is off then don’t pursue them. Finding a sitter isn’t something that I beleive should be rushed at all.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

Always be open and honest with them and tell them that if they can do the same it will be smooth for us both. I love cats and treat every cat as if it was my own and how I would hope people would treat my own cats.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

First and foremost I treat the home and cat just like it was my own. I make sure to secure the doors and also make sure there are no things out that the cat could eat or get caught in to harm themselves.

Are you usually available during holidays?

Yes, except for maybe Christmas time cause I’m usually out of town for that holiday. But other holidays I’m good.

What is your favorite cat toy?

The little catnip filled mouse toys cats seem to love. I also really like the fishing pole style cat toys.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I like to sit on the floor so I’m not appearing scary or imposing. I speak softly and sweetly to them. I limit eye contact or looking at them in general so they can have the chance to check me out. When I do look at them or get eye contact I slow blink at them to show I’m a friend and not a foe.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

Pensacola cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $24.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet!
