Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

One of my favorite cat sitting booking was for a cat who needed hour long drop-ins for at least a week back in Virginia. Her name was Paisley and she was a princess who had a special microwave setting for her food. At first Paisley didn't trust me. We played a little but she didn't want pets. I respected that, and waited patiently. On about the 4th day of the booking, I arrived and she came right to me, rubbing against my legs. I sat down in the hall and she climbed into my lap and stayed there while I pet her for half an hour. We became fast friends and I sat her multiple times. Nothing is as rewarding as patience like that paying off.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

I am always careful when opening and closing doors of a home, in case a kitty is an escape artist. I always lock doors when I leave. I am comfortable with an alarm system as well. I never feed animals anything that I am not expressly told to feed them, and I treat owners' homes with respect.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I had a cat I sat multiple times back in Washington whose name was Remmy. He was a very skittish cat, who had been abused and neglected, didn't like pets, and didn't trust anyone except his owner. She had very detailed instructions for his care, and mentioned that he liked when she talked to him. Well I didn't have anything to discuss with a cat I didn't know, so instead I started bringing books to our drop-ins and reading aloud to this cat. And it made him trust me! He got closer and closer to me as the days went by. I ended up caring for Remmy 2 or 3 times over a year and a half and he became such a gentler cat who started to want pets and human companionship. Point being, every situation is different and I am willing to find your cat's unique care solution.

Cancellation Policy

Cat parents may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a full refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Cat parents will receive a full refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Cat parents will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the cat parent cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.
