I have studied and participated in animal behavior/care both in school and on my own for a decade. I've worked and volunteered at vet clinics and animal shelters alike. I grew up with two cats and have taken care of friends'/family/client's cats throughout my life. I'm familiar with cat behavior and know to always approach them with the... What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I have done catsitting throughout high-school, college, and then as a side job after graduating. Now, I have over a decade of experience watching and caring for cats.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I absolutely love cuddling with kitties, or spending time playing with their favorite toys until they're nice and tired and ready for a nap!
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
I usually organize a meet and greet at your house, so you can show me the ins and outs of your kitty's care. These meetups also ensure your kitty is comfortable around me to make sure we are a good fit for cat sitting!
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I have a speciality in being able to match a cat's energy. If I notice they are particularly shy or timid, I will not push them to be around me. I wait until they feel comfortable enough to approach and always look out for any signs of discomfort when I touch/handle them. This method has always allowed the cat to warm up at their own pace and builds a sense of trust~

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Honolulu cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $27.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
