About 2.5 years ago, I became the substitute mother to an abandoned litter of kittens, hand raising them from newborns... Hello everyone. My name is Jean and I have been a cat lover all of my life. As a matter of fact, I can't recall many times that I did not have the pleasure of a feline companion. I have recently moved from a small farm where we took in several abandoned cats over the years. We became the family that would give a good home to a stray, no questions asked. We usually had one or two living inside with the humans, as well.
About 2.5 years ago, I became the substitute mother to an abandoned litter of kittens, hand raising them from newborns. To watch them mature into healthy cats was a very rewarding accomplishment for me. My photo incudes Marquis, one of those cats. Clearly, he became a part of the family.
I am a reliable and responsible individual who has recently retired from full-time employment. I will take excellent care of your cat. I do have experience administering oral medication and insulin shots. Now that I am retired, I can be available most hours of the day. I am located in the northeast area of Franklin County, Ohio. I am willing to cover Gahanna, Reynoldsburg, New Albany, Westerville, Blacklick, Pataskala, and the Granville areas.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I have been officially cat sitting for two years. However, I have cared for my families cats during vacations for several years. My experience comes from a farm background and caring for many types of cats.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I enjoy getting to know the cats. My goal is always to try and get the shy ones to accept me while I am caring for them.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I do have several cats as I kept all of the litter I hand-raised. Their names are Rocket, Marquis, Gwen and Linda. I also care for two former barn cats— Catniss and Chloe.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
I think the important thing is to hire someone that is trustworthy and truly loves cats. It is also important to feel comfortable with the person you hire. A successful Meet and Greet is key.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
I always provide a formal Meet and Greet. My goal is to make the cat parent feel comfortable with the care I will be giving their cats while they are away.
Are you usually available during holidays?
Yes I am usually available during the holidays. There are exceptions but I keep my Meowtel availability calendar up to date.

Jean is so outstanding! although we have been using her for several months now for small weekend trips, we recently just used her while we were away for 2 weeks. Jean was extremely accommodating in making time for our vacation as well as planning ahead and putting it on her calendar. one of our cats takes medication, and Jean administered it each day. She is wonderful to work with and makes life easy when we travel!

This was my first time using a pet sitter. First of all, the Meowtel app was easy to use and I felt confident choosing a sitter from the site. Also, the communications were excellent. I chose Jean as my sitter because her bio stated she had experience with barn and rescued cats. Since my four cats all came from rescue and even feral backgrounds, Jean understood them well. They are all wonderful and well loved cats, but they do have some quirks because of their rough beginnings. Jean came to the meet and greet visit well prepared, and right away my cats were curious to meet her (instead of hiding as usual). During my time away, Jean kept me informed how all the cats were doing, and did many extra little things, which I very much appreciated. I could tell my cats were happy because in the pictures she sent, they looked relaxed and had their tails held high. When I returned home, my cats were all happy and did not do any pouting at all! I highly recommend both Jean and Meowtel.

Asked for Jean again from a terrific previous experience. Jean took care of my female cat for 5 days and got our mail and packages into the house as a bonus. Jane kept me up-to-date on how much food she was eating, and her behavior, and concerns. With great photos. Very thorough and very knowledgeable about cats in general! Highly recommend!

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Highland Park cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $36.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

I have two different cats with very different personalities and specific routines and Jean made both of them happy. The photos showed how comfortable they were with her there to take care of them! She was also kind to me. I was scared I’d left the door unlocked and I had a package arrive late and she was kind enough to check the door as soon as she could and ensure the package was safe and sound. Great communications, describing the behavior of each, which tracked exactly with who they are. I just felt very comfortable while we were away but everything was fine. Definitely would ask for Jean again.
