My journey into becoming a cat parent started at a gas station in the middle of nowhere, where I spotted an abandoned kitten trying to follow people into the station and even into their cars. It broke my heart, so we took her with us.
The plan was to take her in temporarily, get her treated at the vet, and find her a loving home. During that short time, we named her Nina, and completely fell in love with her. Before Nina, I had never had a pet in my 30 years of life, so everything was new to me, but I wanted to give her the best life possible... Hi there~ My name is Maxine, and I love cats!

Before Nina, I had never had a pet in my 30 years of life, so everything was new to me, but I wanted to give her the best life possible. To me, that meant learning everything I could about feline behavior, enrichment, nutrition, body language, and how to properly interact with cats in ways that respect their unique personalities and boundaries. My goal for Nina, and all cats, is to help them feel safe, comfortable, and happy in their environment and with the people in it.
As we know, every cat is different. Some want lots of playtime and affection, while others prefer quiet companionship and routine. During visits, I provide fresh food and water, keep litter boxes clean, have playtime if they're interested, and give them attention at their own pace. I'll also of course assist in any unique routines they may have.
I know how much trust it takes to leave your pet in someone else's care. To keep you at ease, I provide regular updates and photos so you can stay connected while you're away. I strive to make your cat's time with me as stress-free, enriching, and comfortable as possible.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I love learning the personalities of all the cats I meet, and when the cats begin to get comfortable with me is special. It's also a good opportunity to potentially gain some cat knowledge from the visit that my cat at home can benefit from.

I have 1 cat named Nina! She was abandoned at a gas station as a kitten, so we took her in and have loved her ever since!

I would tell a customer looking to hire a cat sitter to make sure the sitter has experience with several different cat personalities and lifestyles, whether that's real world experience or extensive research.

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
