What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I have been taking care of friends’ and family’s cats for over 20 years, and I’ve been professionally cat sitting for the past 4 years. During that time, I’ve cared for cats of all ages, personalities, and needs. I have long-standing clients who trust me to give medications on time, follow special diets, and care for cats with unique quirks and personalities. I know that every cat has their own routine, and I do my best to make sure they feel comfortable and cared for while their family is away. Whether your cat is outgoing or prefers their space, I’m happy to meet them where they are and provide the care they need.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
When working with a new cat parent, I like to start with a meet and greet so we can get to know each other and make sure it’s a good fit. It’s also a great opportunity to meet your cat in their own environment and learn about their personality and routine. I like to go over your cat’s daily routine, feeding schedule, and any medications or special diets they may have. I’ll ask about their favorite toys and activities, any quirks or triggers I should know about, and whether they prefer lots of interaction or more personal space. I also like to know if there are any household rules, like if there are areas of the home they should avoid. During each visit, I’ll stick to your cat’s normal routine as closely as possible to help keep them comfortable and stress free.
Are you usually available during holidays?
I may not always be available for overnight stays during the holidays, but I do my best to accommodate multiple drop in visits throughout holiday periods. I know many people travel during this time, so I try to keep my schedule as flexible as possible to make sure your cats are well cared for while you’re away.

Lauran took amazing care of my two cats, Shadow and Nox, while I was away. She treated them like they were her own and gave me complete peace of mind with her excellent communication and adorable photo updates. Shadow absolutely loved all the cuddles and attention, and Nox, who can be a little reserved with new people, warmed up to her, which says a lot! I came home to two happy, well cared for cats, and I never had to worry while I was gone. Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.
