What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I have been cat sitting for over 12 years, and have had cats of my own for 30 years. I have found cat sitting to be fulfilling, as I can provide consistent companionship cats and peace of mind for cats’ human families.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I love providing cats with loving and consistent companionship while their families are away. I view each sit as an opportunity to give cat guardians peace of mind, while meeting the social and emotional needs of the cat.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I have a wonderfully sassy and social cat named Sage. She’s a six-year-old tabby that I adopted from a barn cat population. She’s the baby of the house and wayyy too spoiled.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

Safety is very important to me. I ensure the safety of the cats by maintaining cat-CPR knowledge and ensuring cats always have access to fresh food and water. I’m also careful when entering/leaving the home. I enter carefully and double-check that the door is locked when I leave. If I see anything suspicious, I notify the cat parent right away.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I meet the cats where they are at and let them set the pace. I use a soothing voice, slow blinks, and let the cat approach when they’re ready. Sometimes this means building the relationship slowly over multiple visits.

I am beyond impressed with Hunter. My cats are my children. I’m very selective about who I trust with their care. Hunter exceeded all expectations. From medications to daily routines I knew she was caring for them in the same way they are accustomed to when I’m with them. The daily reports are such a nice detail to keep me informed while I’m away and the pictures showed how comfortable they were with her. Hunter was absolutely wonderful while I was out of town for a week! I was provided with a daily report and photos on Meowtel. Frequently Asked Questions

Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:


  • More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
  • 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
  • Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.

All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.
