What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I've entered the world of pet/cat sitting in 1994, when I started with Pet Nanny of Lanham, in Maryland. Back then, we had paper grid maps to find clients' houses. I would drive many, many miles in a day, and there was nothing I'd rather be doing at that time. I did everything from caring for a Persian named Beckett, to helping a Basset named Kip regain the use of his legs by being one of the physical therapy providers (not in the technical sense; the owner provided the vet's instructions for how to move/manipulate his legs during the visit). When I retire, I hope to get back to pet sitting full time. Cats are my favorite to care for.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I just found out there's character limitations in these descriptions..all of our kitties are rescues. Pinky from a shelter in Colorado, and the three boys from local homes. Short version: Pinky is a 2018 brown tabby girl Otis is a 2023 brown/Grey target tabby Bobtail Gus is a 2024 brown target tabby with some Bengal in him Stan is a 2024 white with a light Grey cap, and one gold eye and one blue.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

I would say don't be afraid to detail all of your wishes/instructions. You're hiring someone to try to do as well as they would have if you were home. That should be the goal.

Heather has been watching my kitties for years now and I wouldn't have anyone else take care of them. She goes above and beyond, not only taking care of basic needs but really loving on them and treating them as if they were her own. She gives great, lengthy updates (her pictures are fantastic, too--is photography another strength of hers?!), which make me feel so much better and more at ease. I feel like I can relax while I'm away because I know she's taking care of them. My kitties love their auntie Heather!!

Cancellation Policy

Customers may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a 100% refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Customers will receive a 100% refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Customers will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the customer cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.
