I was very lucky to have my cat, Salem, for 16 wonderful years. Later in her life, she was diagnosed with cancer and needed multiple medications every day. Caring for her gave me hands-on experience administering medication and caring for a cat who needed extra patience, attention, and compassion.
I understand that every cat is different. Some want lots of affection, playtime, and attention, while others are shy and need their space. I believe in letting cats approach me at their own pace and never forcing interaction... Hi! Iām Nina, a lifelong animal lover with an especially big soft spot for cats. I truly enjoy meeting new cats, learning their individual personalities, and earning their trust.

During visits, Iāll follow your catās normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding, fresh water, litter box care, playtime, cuddles, or simply keeping them companyāwhatever makes them happiest and most comfortable. Iāll also pay close attention to their behavior and well-being while youāre away.
Iāll carefully follow any instructions you leave for me and make sure your home is treated with the same care and respect as your cat.
I know how hard it can be to leave your cat behind, so Iāll send photos and updates during my visits so you can see how theyāre doing and have some extra peace of mind.
Losing Salem was incredibly difficult for me, and I still miss her very much. Being able to care for and connect with other cats genuinely makes me happy. Iāll treat your cats with the same love, patience, and attention I would want for my own.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
When working with a new cat parent, I like to learn as much as I can about their cat and their normal routine. I want to know their feeding schedule, litter box routine, favorite toys and activities, personality, any medications or special needs, and anything else that helps them feel comfortable and secure. I also like to know about any little quirks they may have! My goal is to keep things as familiar and consistent as possible while their family is away. Iām always happy to follow detailed instructions, and Iāll send photos and updates so you know how your kitty is doing.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
I take the responsibility of caring for someoneās cat and home very seriously. I carefully follow all instructions, make sure doors and windows are secure, and always double-check that the cat is safely inside before entering or leaving. Iāll keep an eye out for anything unusual with your catās behavior, eating, drinking, or litter box habits and let you know if I notice anything concerning. Iāll also treat your home with care and respect, just as I would want someone to treat mine.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I believe trust should happen on the catās terms. If a cat is timid or anxious, I wonāt force them to interact with me or pull them out of their hiding place. Iāll give them space, move calmly, speak softly, and let them become comfortable with my presence at their own pace. If theyāre interested, I can use treats, toys, or gentle interaction to help build trust. Even if a shy kitty decides theyād rather observe me from across the room, thatās perfectly okay with me! My priority is making them feel safe and comfortable while their family is away.

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
