My name is Julia and I have no cats of my own (I’m an artist who needs a hair-free work environment). Cat-sitting allows me to care for felines while giving me the space to maintain my print practice in my own home.
I’m not afraid of moody and persnickety cats, I’m no stranger to cat waste management (the more frequent the scoops, the less invasive the odor and... I grew up with thirteen indoor cats, and feel confident that I now speak their language.

I’m not afraid of moody and persnickety cats, I’m no stranger to cat waste management (the more frequent the scoops, the less invasive the odor and mess imo), and I am immune to cat scratch fever. I’m not afraid of cat scratches, cat bites, and I love to play. My schedule is flexible and I can maintain a feeding routine, no problem. If you have a cat hair brush, even better.
I’m kind, respectful, and trustworthy in the homes of others. Taking my shoes off at the entrance of a home is a regular practice for me.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I’ve been cat-sitting independently for that past decade (before the invention of the phone app)! Cat-sitting has taken me across the country. I’ve cat sit in Chicago, Boston, Texas, Central Maine and beyond and I am no stranger to the cat-sitting industry and to the homes of cat lovers near and far.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I enjoy learning about the personality of each cat. Each feline is so different, I enjoy meeting them at their own pace and place.
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
I have a continued relationship with a cat named Tilde in Boston. Tilde is elderly and I enjoy watching her regularly, while caring for her needs as she ages. Additionally, I have grown my relationship with her owners and feel honored to be trusted with her well being.

Julia watched my kitty for a week, and I felt so at ease being away, and sometimes hard to contact. She came by beforehand and asked great questions and made me feel like my little Tucker was in great hands. She was communicative and gave updates. Additionally, she left my apartment better than she found it. I will ask her again next time I go out of town!

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Portland cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $27.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
