What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I have years of experience taking care of cats! Starting when I was 13 years old adopting my first ever cat, to recently adopting my new kitten. I’ve worked on Rover, foster and volunteer at shelters, and have experience taking care of all pets. Whether they’re cats, dogs, bunnies, fishes you name it! My specialty is definitely with cats, and I have tons of experience with cats of all ages and different personalities. 🐈

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

Meeting the cat (and their human!) and learning everyone's personality. My favorite part is watching a cat go from "who are you and why are you in my house?" to climbing in my lap like I've been their person forever. I love the bond we build, and seeing a shy kitty slowly turn into their goofy, playful self is the best feeling. Honestly, I'm just here for the trust and the head bonks. 🐱

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

My favorite was caring for a brother and sister duo. They groomed each other, played together nonstop, and eventually let me into their little pack. By the end, I felt like a bonus member of the family. Watching their sibling bond up close was the sweetest thing, and those days felt like one cozy little family 🐾

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

Yes! I have three: Missifu, my sweet 8-year-old senior, Kai, my 2-year-old who thinks he runs the house, and Tina, our newest member, an 12-week-old kitten I just adopted from a shelter. Having a senior, a young adult, and a baby at home means I know how different every cat's needs and personality can be!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

Do your homework! Make sure your sitter is vetted, has real experience with cats, and has good ratings and reviews. Always do a meet and greet so you can see how your cat reacts to them. A good sitter should feel trustworthy and kind, and your cat should warm up to them. I've worked on Rover and still do, with great ratings. I've also fostered cats, I'm fully vetted, and I have recurring clients I care for every week!

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

First, I get to know the cat parent and their kitty. Then we set up a meet and greet so everyone can get comfortable and I can see how the cat feels about me. I ask about their expectations and their cat's needs, like routines, food, quirks, and favorite toys. Then I make sure I follow through on everything they want while they're away. I also keep in touch with updates and photos, because a good relationship with the cat parent matters just as much as caring for the cat!

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

I treat every home like it's my own. I keep the key safe, and I lock up every time I come in and out. During each visit, I check that all windows and doors are closed and locked so no sneaky kitty can escape. I stay alert the whole time, keeping an eye on the cat, the house, and anything that seems out of place. 🔑🐱

Are you usually available during holidays?

Yes, I'm available almost every holiday! I'm a full-time online student, so my schedule is very flexible. I just ask for as much advance notice as possible so I can make sure your cat gets the care they deserve.

What is your favorite cat toy?

Catnip critters! Those little stuffed toys in animal shapes are my favorite. I love watching cats go absolutely wild over the catnip, hugging the toy and giving it those dramatic butterfly kicks. It's the best show in the house. 🐱🌿

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I go slow and let the cat set the pace. I sit low, speak softly, avoid direct eye contact, and let them come to me when they're ready. Treats, gentle play, and keeping their routine the same help them feel safe. I've fostered shy shelter cats, so I'm very patient and know that trust takes time.
