I know that each kitty is different from personality to play style, and I believe in letting them set the pace to ensure they... Hi, I’m Mallory! I’ve been a cat owner for over 10 years to my own cats, Simba and Kibo, and have always had a joy for spending time with cats. Over the years I’ve cared for many animals with a variety of personalities, including ones that are more anxious who need extra patience, understanding, and a safe environment to relax.
I know that each kitty is different from personality to play style, and I believe in letting them set the pace to ensure they feel comfortable!
During every visit, I will:
—Feed your cat(s) according to your instructions and their routine
—Fill any water bowls or check water fountain levels, filling when needed
—Scoop & clean the litter box
—Have play time with any fun toys
—Give lots of pets and cuddles, if desired
—Provide timely updates, pictures, and videos of your cat(s) during the visit
—Give medication if needed (topical or eyedrops)
—Water any plants
I’ll treat your cat(s) with the same love that I give to my own cats, so that you can have peace of mind knowing they’re well cared for while you’re away.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
What I enjoy most about cat sitting is getting to know each cat’s special personality. It always warms my heart when a a cat, especially shy or anxious ones, becomes more comfortable and relaxed. I also love giving cat parents peace of mind, knowing that their cat is being well cared for with the same intention and love I give to my own.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
I would recommend looking for someone who really understands that every cat has different needs and routines. Aside from making sure their food, water, and litter box needs are met, a cat sitter should also be aware of each cats behavior and be willing to be patient with more anxious cats. They should also be great communicators! I always appreciate photos and updates of my kitties when someone else is caring for them, so I’d make sure to provide reassurance to every owner during my visits.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I always let the cat set the pace. Timid and anxious kitties need lots of patience, especially with new people coming into their home. When coming into their space I speak quietly and calmly while also moving around slowly, allowing them to feel more safe. I do my best to keep their regular routine as consistent as possible so they can feel less stressed. Whether that means playing with them during their usual play time or just keeping a regular feeding schedule, my goal is to help them feel secure and cared for while you’re away.

I selected Mallory at Meowtel based on her easy smile … boy was I right! She was courteous and professional at our meet and greet. My 2 British shorthairs warmed up to her immediately. She listened carefully to my instructions and asked for clarification where needed. I felt very comfortable leaving the kittens with her. I was sent detailed reports about the cats each day with the most wonderful photos and videos. Mallory played each day with the kittens! She also took excellent care of the house and mail/packages. I communicated each day with Mallory via chat after her morning visits. When we got home I found a hand written note from Mallory telling me how she enjoyed spending time with the kitties…very impressive! I highly recommend Mallory as a cat sitter. She goes above and beyond with a smile!!😻😻

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:
- January 1-4: New Year's 2026
- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th
- September 4-10: Labor Day
- October 9-15: Columbus Day / Indigenous Peoples' Day
- November 8-14: Veterans Day
- November 23-29: Thanksgiving
- December 22-28: Christmas
- December 29-31: New Year's 2027

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Cary cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $25.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
