Levi's Cat Sitting

I'm Levi

Cat Sitting in Concord, NC

Hello! My name is Levi and I myself am a cat dad of four! I have owned cats almost my entire 35 years of life and have a huge passion for animals in general.

I’m doing cat sitting on the side of my full time job where I do furniture assembly in a retail furniture store so my availability is pretty straightforward.

I work 10am-6:30pm Tuesday through Saturday at my full-time job. I would be available in the early mornings (5am-8am), late evenings (7pm to 10pm), and fully available on Sundays and Mondays. I could very easily do a morning and night drop in for feedings, medications, or just check ins on weekdays. I also offer overnights.

I know how cats are, new people are scary. Meet and greets are very important to me so that you and I can see how well your fur babies can adapt to me and see if we’re a good fit. I have yet to meet a cat who was uncomfortable with me as I tend to make myself small for them and speak softly and don’t push any sort of petting or anything the cat doesn’t initiate themselves upon first meet...

I know how cats are, new people are scary. Meet and greets are very important to me so that you and I can see how well your fur babies can adapt to me and see if we’re a good fit. I have yet to meet a cat who was uncomfortable with me as I tend to make myself small for them and speak softly and don’t push any sort of petting or anything the cat doesn’t initiate themselves upon first meet. After all, I would be a stranger in their safe space and I want to do all I can to make sure they feel safe and that YOU feel safe and respected as people and knowing that your home will be safe and respected. If I would be doing any sort of overnight stays in your home, I will never leave a mess. Your belongings will be respected, I’m not a smoker of any kind so you would not have to worry about anything like that.

I would love to help out with litterbox cleaning if that is something you need, not just scooping, because I know how difficult and time consuming it is to have to deal with those things while trying to get through everything else in life. I don’t view cat sitting as a quick in and out situation. I will take the time to check their water, make sure they have food, cleaning up cat spaces or messes, litterboxes, playtime, administering medications, and monitoring their health.

I live in the Concord area and work down in Matthews so I have a wide range. I use to live in China Grove and Kannapolis so I would love to help anyone in that community as well, so don’t be afraid to reach out! I am not limited to Concord! I look forward to meeting you and your fur babies.

I have cat sit for friends and family, dropped in for feedings, tidying up the house, and providing photos and videos from check in so that they knew their babies were doing well.

A bit about my four cats so you can see what regular experiences I have. They include my black cat named Thackery Binx who is actually not just my cat but my emotional support animal. He has a very sensitive stomach and has some ear troubles. We give him ear medications and cleanings when needed.

Then we have our tuxedo named Mercutio, who’s 13, who came into my life when my partner did. He has since gone from being a very reserved angry little boy to loving and trusting me and I am now one of two people who are allowed to pet him and give him kisses on his silly little head.

Then we have Cleo who I inherited from my mother when she passed. Cleo has a lot of health issues and is on three oral medications that we give her twice a day, so I am very use to administering pill and liquid medications.

Cleo is only 9 or 10 and has congestive heart failure, chronic constipation, and sand-like stones in her bladder. She’s had a hard life, my mother took her in when someone dumped her in our neighborhood while I was living in SoCal and we believe she was a reject from a breeder as she had a litter of kittens soon after mom took her in and unfortunately her ducts were not producing milk and mom didn’t know how to care for newly born kittens and ended up losing them. Since she’s been with me she has bonded to me very deeply. She is one of those cats that hide when others are around and is extremely shy and reserved with new people.

Then we have our youngest, Blake, who we adopted from the Concord animal shelter. Shes a gray and white cat and when we got her as a wee kitten she had tabby stripes that have since disappeared. She’s only 2 but has done nothing but become a watermelon of a cat. We’re currently trying to figure out why she keeps gaining weight so we’re doing some weight management with her. She’s also very spicy, very aloof, HATES being pet unless she asks for it and she’s still in her young cat stage so she’s WILD. I’ve never seen such a fat cat run around the house so fast!

As you can see we have a wide range of personalities and health conditions that we are use to. I look forward to meeting you and discussing your needs and expectations.

Learn More About Levi

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I do! We have Binx, Mercutio, Cleo, and Blake! They all have vastly different personalities and needs. Cleo has taught me a lot about medication administering and always keeping an eye out for signs or symptoms of something going wrong medically with our babies.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

The meet and greet process is very important for me. We’re two strangers after all and you would be entrusting your cats and home with me. Whether it be a phone meet or an in person meet, I want to make sure we both feel comfortable. Even if we have to do two meets, I know it’s scary to have random people just come to your house. If you’d rather meet me first before I ever meet the cats or be near your home, that is absolutely okay. I wanna get to know you and your needs, get to know your cats and their needs. Learn your rules and boundaries and anything else you need me to know, and for you to get to know me as well.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I have a cat myself that is timid and anxious, especially around new people. It took her months to warm up to me when I moved back in with my mother to be her caretaker. You can’t force a cat to trust you. They have to build that trust naturally in their own comfortability. If they run and hide from me, that’s perfectly okay because that’s what they need to do to feel safe. It takes time. So what I do is I sit quietly on the floor for a while. See if they are brave enough to come sniff around me. I don’t make any quick movements. If they’re particularly anxious I might not look directly at them so they know they have the time and space to be curious. I just give them the time to naturally sus me out.

This month

Levi was a wonderful cat sitter while we were gone for our trip. Absolutely went above and beyond to spend time with our boys and find what they liked to play with and getting to know their individual personalities as well as cleaning up any messes. We would definitely recommend Levi for anyones pet sitting needs.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

Concord cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $27.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet!
