During visits I make sure food, water, an... Hi! Iām a pre-veterinary student at UNL with experience working as a veterinary assistant, so caring for animals is something I take seriously and enjoy. Iāve worked with cats of all personalities, from playful and social to shy or anxious, and Iām comfortable helping them feel calm and safe while their owners are away.
During visits I make sure food, water, and litter are taken care of, and I always spend time giving cats attention, play, or quiet company depending on what they prefer. Because of my veterinary assistant experience, Iām also comfortable giving medications if needed and paying attention to small changes in behavior or health.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
Honestly I just really like getting to know each catās personality. Some are super social and want to play the whole time, and others take a little while to warm up, which I enjoy because it feels rewarding when they start to trust you. I like making sure theyāre comfortable and sticking to their routine while their owners are away. As a pre-vet student and veterinary assistant I already spend a lot of time around animals, so cat sitting is something I genuinely enjoy doing and caring for them comes pretty naturally to me.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
Yes, I have one kitty myself. Her name is mittens and she is 11 years old. Last year she was diagnosed with diabetes, but after moving in with me she has gone into remission and lost almost 6lbs!!
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I approach timid or anxious cats very patiently and always let them set the pace. I avoid forcing interaction and give them space instead to observe me. If a cat prefers to hide at first, thatās completely okay. Iāll sit quietly nearby so they can come to me when theyāre ready. Iām also familiar with reading cat body language and recognizing signs of stress so I can respond in a supportive way.

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
