What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I have taken care of my neighbors and friends cats on a sporadic basis over the years, but nothing on a constant basis
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I love playing with cats and will go out of my way to pet them, but I let the cat come to me first. The bond must be mutual.
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
I cat sat Leo for my friend , who would purr loudly upon rather vigorously being petted. I thought that it was funny how hard Leo loved it.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I had a wonderful cat named Rosie but passed away from age, as did my next one, Halo. I still miss them.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
Ask questions!! Get to know your sitter- set up a “meet and greet “ By establishing a solid relationship, it makes the process easier
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
Introductions are a must- not only for the cat parents, but also for the cat as well. Everyone should be comfortable before proceeding.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
Ensure the whereabouts of the assigned cats, check and recheck spaces, entryways, etc. Ensure that all hazards are identified and checked before exit.
Are you usually available during holidays?
Yes- the tennis season is over after 4/26, and I have just completed my masters program so I should be free for the holidays
What is your favorite cat toy?
My cat used to love a stuffed banana filled with catnip. She also loved any laser pointer , which she would chase endlessly
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I do not approach them , but instead allow them the space to feel comfortable. If in time, the cat feels confident enough to approach me, I let the cat make the first move.

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
