Cat Sitting in Albuquerque, NM
In addition to caring for my own cats, I'm also a dedicated volunteer at the Albuquerque Animal Welfare Department (AWD). Every weekend I have a 3.5 hour shift at the neonatal nursery where I care for some of the most vulnerable kittens in the shelter - orphaned bottle babies! I have also fostered... My childhood cat was 3 years old when I was born, and we were best friends until he passed away at age 21. I've loved cats ever since, and now have 5 of my own that I think of as my own children.
In addition to caring for my own cats, I'm also a dedicated volunteer at the Albuquerque Animal Welfare Department (AWD). Every weekend I have a 3.5 hour shift at the neonatal nursery where I care for some of the most vulnerable kittens in the shelter - orphaned bottle babies! I have also fostered with AWD since 2022 and, with my husband's help, have raised over 30 rescue kittens in my home who were later adopted into loving forever homes.
I've worked with a variety of special health and behavioral cases in shelter cats and my own rescues, including ringworm, asthma, URI, broken bones, and more, and I feel that I can earn even the shyest cats' trust. I routinely cat sit for my friends, some of whom adopted their cats from me when I fostered them!
I love to be a source of comfort when cats' parents are out of town. It can be stressful for any pet, but I love knowing the cats I sit will feel love and get some nice playtime (and cuddling, if they want!) while their parents are away.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I love feeling like I can help make cats feel a little more comfortable and less stressed while their parents are away. We can't explain to them that we sometimes have to go out of town for work, family, or other obligations (or vacations!) so I like to make them feel as comfortable as possible to help reassure them.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I have five cats: Coke Zero (the eldest and most famous), Blueberry (a former feral and certified space alien), Lou (our first foster fail and our household's biggest criminal), Oyster (who we raised from her days as a bottle baby), and Sun (a tiny purr machine)!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
I would recommend looking for a cat sitter who is very familiar with cats specifically - not just dogs. I think it's important to have cat-specific experience because of all the things cats do differently from other animals, including how much they benefit from a routine, the way they hide their injuries/illnesses, and their body language generally. I think cats and dogs are often lumped together as one size fits all pets, but there are so many areas where they differ!

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:
- January 1-4: New Year's 2026
- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th
- September 4-10: Labor Day

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Albuquerque cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $24.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
