Meowdy Howdy Cat Care

I'm Kitty

Cat Sitting in Albuquerque, NM

Meowdy there, I’m Kitty! 🐾 (Yes, That's my real name!)

I’m the owner of Meowdy Howdy Cat Care, and I spend my days doing what I love most in this world, caring for cats and translating their mysterious body languages. Tending to cats has been a huge part of my life for well over a decade, and I genuinely can’t imagine doing anything else.

About Me:

I live in Albuquerque with two young cats and one shy senior ..who absolutely believe they are the landlords of the household. (I am, of course, just staff. 😹)

Caring for animals has been part of my life for over a decade, and it never really felt like a “job” so much as something I was always meant to do. I’ve been working with cats since 2009 in a wide range of environments including pet sitting, animal shelters, veterinary hospitals, wildlife care, rescue work, and fostering. Over the years I’ve worked as a veterinary technician and intern at multiple animal hospitals, where I learned how to support cats who were sick, scared, injured, recovering, or just having a very dramatic day (as cats do)...

Over the years I’ve worked as a veterinary technician and intern at multiple animal hospitals, where I learned how to support cats who were sick, scared, injured, recovering, or just having a very dramatic day (as cats do). That experience taught me how to stay calm, observant, and gentle even in high-stress situations, especially when a cat is trying to convince everyone they are, in fact, feral royalty.

I also worked as a Cat Adoption Specialist at Richmond Animal League (RAL), where I helped cats find their people and helped people understand their cats. A lot of that work was really about translation, turning “why is my cat like this?” into “oh… that’s just who they are, and here’s how we can work with it.” Outside of paid work, I volunteer with local nature centers and animal shelters, and I’m active in TNR (trap-neuter-return) efforts for feral cat colonies. I’ve spent years helping rescue, socialize, foster, and rehabilitate cats who have been abandoned, under-socialized, or just unsure if they can trust humans yet. I especially love the shy ones, the watchful ones, the ones who pretend they don’t care while quietly deciding if you’re safe.

I’m deeply tuned into feline behavior and body language, and I treat every cat like an individual with their own emotional weather system. Some are sunshine and chaos. Some are foggy windows and slow trust. Some are tiny gremlins who believe 3am is for screaming. All of it is normal to me. This is not a side thing or a hobby I stumbled into. This is my career, built intentionally and carefully around the life I want to live and the work I care about most. My goal is always to make sure your cat feels safe, seen, understood, and comfortable in their own space while you’re away.

Types of Cats I’m Experienced With
I’m confident and comfortable caring for:

🐱High-anxiety or shy cats who need patience and emotional safety
🐱Senior cats who require gentle care, comfort, and close observation
🐱Kittens and high-energy cats who treat life like a parkour course
🐱Cats with medical needs and daily medications
🐱Cats requiring oral medications
🐱Diabetic cats needing insulin injections
🐱Cats with asthma who use inhalers
🐱Cats with kidney disease or chronic medical conditions
🐱Recently rescued or traumatized cats learning to trust again
🐱Semi-feral or under-socialized cats who need calm, respectful presence
🐱Multi-cat households where everyone has a different opinion about everything
🐱Breed-specific care for cats such as Sphynx, Persian, and Bengal cats

I also have experience caring for exotic feline species and feline-adjacent animals. These situations require a more specialized, observant, and flexible approach, and I’m comfortable adjusting care routines to match their environmental, dietary, and behavioral needs.

I’m trained in animal CPR and pet first aid, so your kitty is always in capable and prepared hands. And of course, if your cat is sweet, spicy, clingy, aloof, chaotic, deeply dramatic, or just a professional household menace at 4am, I will love them exactly as they are. 🐈✨

Why Choose Me?

As a cat parent myself, I understand that leaving your pets isn’t just “being away,” it’s trusting someone with your whole little universe of routines, personalities, and tiny daily rituals. I don’t take that lightly. My approach is built on patience, attentiveness, communication, and a genuine respect for feline boundaries. I meet cats where they are, not where I wish they were. Whether your cat wants playtime, quiet companionship, medication support, or just someone who understands that blinking slowly is a full conversation, I’m here for it.

You’ll always get thoughtful updates, clear communication, and plenty of photos of your cat being their full unfiltered self. I know how much those little check-ins matter when you’re away.

With me, your cats aren’t appointments or tasks to complete. They’re little personalities I get the honor of caring for, and I treat them that way every single time. 🐈‍⬛

Learn More About Kitty

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I've been cat sitting for over 20+ years. My experience comes from veterinary/shelter work, nature center care, and feral cat rescue.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

Meeting new kitties, of course! Cat bring me a special joy that nothing else in this world can compare too.

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

My favorite cat sitting moment was with an elderly cat named Baset. He didn't have teeth so I had to spoon feed him wet food!

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I have 3 cats! Neeko - constantly cuddling and eating. Azucena - the princess of the Cat Tree. & TomTom - The chunky elderly man who's greed for head pats knows no limits.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

Take the time to really find someone that fits your cars needs. Don't be afraid to ask questions and to do a free meet and greet.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

I always set up a meet and greet to make sure I'm a good fit for your family. I ask a bunch of care questions and keep notes per cat client so my care is streamlined and precise.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

Cat safety is my #1 priority for your family. I'm "body-blocking" the door during entry and exit to make sure your kitty is not escaping the house (lol). I use a special key-holder to ensure the security of your homes access. I always use updates and photos/videos to show your cat is happy and healthy.. anything and everything to ensure the home and cats are safe during each visit!

Are you usually available during holidays?

I am available most holidays, just look and see if im listed as available for the day you desire cat care.

What is your favorite cat toy?

Frisco cat crinkle tunnels or cat track toys! They make for a hilarious and energetic workout time. (And silly photo ops!)

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

With empathy and compassion. Not all cats like to be touched or even spoken too. Sometimes, sitting in silence together is enough to open a cats heart.

This month

Kitty was phenomenal. Want to know how much? I'm going to have her provide cat-therapy once a week based on the results of coming home to a cat that is more calm and affectionate than before I left. I have been by my cat's side since she was found dumped in a storm drain at 8 weeks. She is a great cat but skeptical of humans, as you can imagine. She is an exceptionally caring and reliable cat sitter.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

Albuquerque cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $24.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet!
