I currently have a two-year-old Egyptian Mau, Maahes, who rules the roost with impunity... I’ve owned cats for over twenty years, so I’ve seen the full range of what comes with them: kittens, adults, different personalities, and the everyday routines and occasional surprises that come with each. That’s the main reason I think I’d be a good choice for your cat. I’ve seen enough of them to know what normal looks like, and that makes it easier to spot when something isn’t.
I currently have a two-year-old Egyptian Mau, Maahes, who rules the roost with impunity. Maus are active, intelligent, and strongly bonded to their people, so caring for one has kept me practiced at the things that matter on a sitting visit: keeping a cat engaged with play, respecting a cat who’s wary of new people, and sticking to a consistent routine.
When I look after your cat, I’ll follow your feeding and litter instructions, pay attention to appetite, behavior, and mood, and give them time to get comfortable with me before pushing for attention. If something seems off, I’ll let you know.

I do! I have a two-and-a-half-year-old Egyptian Mau, Maahes—he is less a cat than a small, self-propelled force of nature and a perpetual five-year-old. Frenetic, precocious, and incessantly energized, he approaches life with the vociferous curiosity of a tiny celestial trickster who suspects the universe hides its secrets behind the furniture. Raising Maahes has taught me that cats have dynamic, complex personalities, their own peculiar logic, boundless curiosity, and unmistakable ways of making a home their own; Maahes keeps me on my toes, keeps me laughing, and reminds me daily that the world remains a fascinating place for anyone willing to investigate it at full velocity.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
I start by learning about the cat’s personality, daily routine, feeding schedule, litter preferences, and any medical or behavioral needs. I also clarify the home’s routines, emergency contacts, veterinary information, and any special instructions. Before the booking, I make sure expectations are clear and that I know where everything is. During visits, I follow the agreed-upon routine, give your cat ample time and space to get acclimated to me, and provide rapid communication on any exigent issues that may arise with your feline.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
I treat both the cat’s safety and the home’s security as priorities. I follow the owner’s instructions carefully, check doors and windows, make sure the cat stays safely indoors unless otherwise agreed, and remain mindful of potential hazards. I keep feeding and litter routines consistent, pay attention to changes in behavior or appetite, and contact the owner promptly if anything seems unusual. I also secure the home when I leave and provide regular updates for peace of mind.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
