What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I've been looking after animals, including cats for most of my life, and over the past year I've worked for companies which provide pet sitting services. I've enjoyed every moment of it. I also care for several of my own rabbits at home. The cats I sit remind me of my own pets, I truly love them and look after them with the utmost concern.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I've had two pet cats myself (Taffy and Ricky). Two opposites: one shy and affectionate, the other with more aggressive qualities in between affection. Cats are always lovable, and I've never met a cat I didn't like!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

Patience and commitment are necessities in evaluating a pet sitter, especially a pet sitter handling cats. Cats can be so strong-willed and illusive. A sitter has to be willing to wait, and really indulge cats with devoted effort!

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

Before anything else, I'll need to get any important details from the pet parent. Then, any extras can be discussed. Providing periodic updates to pet parents is a must in keeping care consistent and considerate. I can contact you as often as you would like to be updated.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

To insure the security of cats and their homes, I'll keep a very close watch over pets, the state your cats are in, and triple check food, water, important task lists, as well as doors and locks.

Are you usually available during holidays?

I am usually available during any holiday, through any season of the year. Christmas, Hanukkah, Easter, Thanksgiving, Halloween, 4th of July, etc. Any holiday or occasion during which your cat might need extra attention.

What is your favorite cat toy?

Wands with dangling objects that trigger a cat's natural instinct to swat are great for exercise and stimulation. I'd be happy to spend any amount of time entertaining your pet with these or any other kind of toy. Just let me know what your cat enjoys!

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I'll be extra gentle and patient with timid or anxious cats. There's a difference between being firm and tenacious until a cat is medicated, relocated, or simply becomes comfortable, and being too forceful, which I would not attempt with a shy cat. I will make sure your cat is comfortable!
