Always been a cat person. My experience with cats started when I was 4 years old when I became proud owner of the runt of the litter, a dark calico named Jessica or Jess for short. She lived a long life, just shy of 20 years! Over the past 3 decades I've sat for cats while babysitting or house sitting.

Very comfortable with varying cat temperments and personalities within reason. I'm respectful of routines and methods of care prescribed by the owner(s).
Favorite activities with the kitties include enthusiastic playtime with or without toys, sunbathing, and giving treats! Health and safety of kitties is paramount. I often request all the important phone numbers, insurance, and other important details ahead of time in case of emergencies.
General services: - feeding - entertaining - cleaning (i.e. litterbox, brushing fur, washing as needed) - medications - companionship

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I've been a cat sitter on and off since I was a kid. I got my first cat when I was 4 years old and she lived to be almost 20! I'm a dedicated sitter who loves meeting and engaging with kitties of all breeds.
Are you usually available during holidays?
At the moment, I'm a single person who doesn't have much family nearby or left around. I do spend time with my mom during Thanksgiving and/or Christmas however my schedule is generally open and flexible. I don't usually make extensive travel plans but if I do I would give adequate notice to both new and reoccurring clients.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I had a cat that had a history with an abusive owner. It took many years for this cat to feel comfortable enough to be out in the open with me without hiding under furniture for hours at a time. I would meet a timid or anxious cat literally at their level, get on the ground and talk to them in a calm voice, give them space and routinely check in, tempt them with food or treats or simply sit calming and wait for their approach.

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Sag Harbor cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $27.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
