Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I have 3 cats, 2 TNRs, and a feral cat that comes around every once in a while. My 3 cats are Nyx a black American medium hair who I got from the Humane Society, Brooker a brown tabby who came from a litter from a pregnant stray that I helped raise, and Bentley a Siamese who was relinquished to my care after being on the street for 3 years and needed a little extra mental health care to become a cat again. My TNRs I provide food, flea and tick care, as well as provide a safe spot to shelter. The feral cat I'm trying to catch to turn into a TNR but he is very clever.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

I like to meet the owner and the cat as well for the first time to get an understanding of their temperament. Different cats have different needs. this way I know what treats are okay, if they have a favorite toy, or any other support and love they need.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

All animals have a challenge boundary that when you cross, they get extremely defensive. Cats are an extra challenge because they have sharp claws and teeth. The best way I have found is to simply exist in the cat's space at the edge of that boundary as well as engage in play of treats that forms a positive association. The key is to only go as fast as the cat is comfortable because they will tell you how they feel. The first touch should always be instigated by the cat and it's safest for me to offer something to smell like my glasses or something I can hold out. This way they can get use to my scent without crossing that challenge boundary.

Customers may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a 100% refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Customers will receive a 100% refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Customers will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the customer cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.
