I know what they usually want. It’s attention, a pet or cuddling. I clean their litter, and can give oral medication usually through their food. I have cat sit for family and friends over the years, and am flexible for the scheduled days and times.
I know they don’t like being alone, and want to have someone around to care for them. Cats are pawtastic in my book!

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I have taken care of friends and family cats (1-3) at a time for periods of 1-3 weeks.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
Getting to see other cats other than my own, and providing the love and company for them while their parents are gone.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I currently have one cat. She is a tortie calico with tortitude! Her name is Cami. She’s very vocal and keeps me company with her purrs and meows. Unless of course when she’s sleeping as most cats do!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
To meet the parents first and introduce the sitter to their cat for compatibility. Then both parties are assured of a good fit.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
Schedule a meet up prior to the cat sitting time. (No charge). Drive to the location and to meet their cat(s), and work out a plan for the actual sitting time.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
A mutual consent to communicate to the cats’ parents if it's not too obtrusive during their time away. Take a daily picture, and send if that comforts the parent on their vacation.
Are you usually available during holidays?
Yes. I don’t usually have much going on during the holidays since I have a retired schedule. I can be flexible.
What is your favorite cat toy?
My cat, Cami, has several toys. Her favorite is a small colorful fuzzy ball that she carrys around and bats it up in the air. She also likes the noisy balls with a bell in them.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
Try to warm up with a pet, by having them smell the back of my hand at their level. Not making any sudden movements. Then if permissible scratch their chin, or give them a kitty massage. (rub between their shoulder blades on their back).

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
