I’ve never had “my own” cats until I bought my house and adopted a bonded pair two years ago. They’re inseparable and I wouldn’t have it any other way. But as I’ve already mentioned, I’ve always had and been around cats. My own, my families, friends, and I always make sure to make them feel as comfortable around me as possible. Of course I want them to like me more than they like their own parents, so I always make sure to give treats, pats, rubs, scritches, and play with them with their favorite toys... I’ve lived with and known cats my entire life. I helped my family pick out our first cat, a lovely Torty named Emma, who lived to the grand age of 19. My mom and I fostered cats most of my childhood, so I’ve dealt with a wide variety of personalities. From love bugs, shy guys, and misunderstood meanies. And played doctor for a few (ointments, drops, special food)!

Working from home these last few years has made it incredibly convenient and easy to not only take care of my cats, but be there for others’ as well. I don’t travel as much anymore (all of this could change, I am aware), and am relatively low-key and quiet as a person in general, so I feel that’s an asset to get a cat to like me, I can be cool, calm, and collected while they figure me out. I always seek out the pet first at a party, not only for my own social well-being, but to gauge how they are and help them chill out.
I currently have a sales job and have been in customer service most of my life, so I know how to talk to people, and cats. I sometimes use them as unofficial and unpaid therapists, but I know they don’t really listen to me.
Meeting a friend’s new cat is akin to meeting a client’s cat for the first time, so you want to go in calm and curious. Get to know the cat as much as they want to get to know you, and take any advice/suggestions from the owner(s). I don’t know why I’m writing it to you like you don’t already know, but here we are. I want to go in excited to potentially make new friends, human and feline.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I have been cat sitting off and on for friends over the years and they all have at least two, so I am well-versed in multi-cat households.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I currently have two boys. Both Domestic Shorthairs, one is a creamsicle boy (orange on top, white on the bottom) named Eli. The other is brown with black stripes and his name is Oliver. They’re a bonded pair that I adopted a little over two years ago, and they are my pride and joy.
Are you usually available during holidays?
I currently from home, and most of my friends and family live here, so yes, it is convenient and easy for me to be available during holidays.

Spencer is a true cat lover! He has two cats of his own that he takes the best care of and absolutely adores. Spencer watched my cats while I was on vacation and was wonderful at sending daily updates including pictures and videos to show how much they were being loved and cared for while I was away. Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:
- January 1-4: New Year's 2026
- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Gibsonia cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $30.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
