Of course, I have 4 cats officially. My oldest is 17, a fully black cat named Bones, who one day in 2012 showed up on my doorstep literally starving (hence the name Bones). I earned his trust slowly over the course of a year before he was finally able to move inside with me. Skinny Jim is a fully white 11 year old, and came to me via a friend- he had shown up at their farm with a damaged eye, so he became Bones’ new bff. Mumbles the tuxedo arrived in 2020, after a friend adopted a cat, only to discover later that the cat was pregnant! He was the first born of the litter. Lastly, my darling Meeps is just over 1 year old. My cousin called me out of the blue that she was adopting a kitten from a neighbor, and that there was one more kitten

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

First of all no matter how skittish or anxious the cat, I always make sure to put eyes on them when I come to care for them and send photos/videos to their humans. I always make sure that windows and doors are secure, and that when I’m entering/exiting the home that I have eyes on any cats near the door to prevent runners. When entering the home, I always make sure to have a leg at the opening, and open it a small crack first before committing to a full open.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

Cats like this just need their boundaries to be respected. Often with cats like this, I make sure to lower myself to their level, always offering a hand to sniff as a greeting (my strategy is to put my hand on the floor, palm up so it doesn’t seem like I’m grabbing, near enough they can lean in). I use soft speech, I don’t chase or pursue. If possible I offer them treats and such. They just need more patience and to be communicated with on their level/terms.

Cancellation Policy

Customers may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a 100% refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Customers will receive a 100% refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Customers will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the customer cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.
