What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I have been cat-sitting for Meowtel since 2021 and every second has been a delightful experience. I have also cat-sit for my co-workers, family, and friends for over six years. I love what I do, and working with cat parents and their kitties is always a pleasure.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I love meeting new cats, petting them, playing, and watching TV together if time allows. Being in their company brings me genuine joy. I enjoy cat sitting so much that it feels more like a favorite hobby than a "job." It makes me feel all giddy inside!
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
I had someone book me for a month or more; I would leave my first job, go directly to them afterward, and look forward to going. One of the cats specifically liked to climb on my shoulders and stand or sit there while rubbing his head all over me. The day came when I returned the key to the cat parent where the same cat was standing on her shoulders; they told me her cat had never done that to anyone else but her before!
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I have two kitties! Poof, the cream cat with beautiful blue eyes I had since he was 5 weeks old, is now a total mama’s boy who loves to cuddle up with me and sleep. I recently adopted Frankie from a shelter about three years ago when he was 1.5 years old. He basically acts like a dog, and he’s so funny! & Mr. Kitty, my fluffy boy, is happily rolling over in cat heaven.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
It can be nerve wrecking at first meeting a stranger but I promise you everyone in Meowtel loves what they are doing and you are protected. Please note that your satisfaction is of my utmost importance so please do not be afraid to communicate any questions and/or concerns with me and/or Meowtel before, during, and after the reservation to make things right.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
Be warm and kind, and show them I am safe and their kitties are safe with me.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
I lock doors like a habit and double-check to ensure they are locked. No one else but me is allowed in the house. I let the cat meet me, get to know me, and only touch them if they feel safe with me.
Are you usually available during holidays?
Yes I am always open on holidays. If for any reason my schedule does not show me as available for a holiday, please feel free to message me as I can be flexible with my schedule and open a spot up for you!
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I might be a cat whisperer. I encountered shy cats during the meet & greet, but they became affectionate the first day I spent time with them!

She always responded quickly to messages, kept me up to date before and during her visits, spent quality time with the cats and made sure to have eyes on the shy one who hid each visit, and went above and beyond leaving the place clean. Our first time leaving our cats with anyone outside of family. We just moved and had no one nearby to watch them when we went away. Katherine kept us informed regularly and put our minds at ease. zour cats were nervous having just moved to new surroundings and we were very concerned leaving them so soon but she managed to coax them out of hiding and kept in close contact. Highly recommend her services. Our cats are nervous and high maintenance and not usually friendly with strangers but she was patient with them and earned their trust.

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:
- January 1-4: New Year's 2026
- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th
- September 4-10: Labor Day

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Pawtucket cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $25.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.
We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.
