I’ve been house and pet sitting professionally for 13 years, and have owned and cared for many senior animals in that time, as well as several nervous or skittish or otherwise ‘difficult’ pets who need gentle, considerate handling. Establishing trust and rapport with every animal I care for – and with every client! – is always my first priority. I pride myself in creating a calm, safe environment at every one of my jobs, and in always honoring the immense trust I know my clients place in me when allowing me to care for their home and furry family members.
At the meet and greet before every job I always do a full walk-through of the house and daily routine with my clients, taking detailed notes and covering everything from feeding and play times to special considerations like allergies or medication schedules. I want to make absolutely sure I understand exactly the care your pet and home require. I have experience administering oral and topical medications as well as ear drops, and in preparing and following special diets for cats who need them.

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
I always seem to have the most fun in multiple-cat households. I remember particularly sitting for a menagerie of three cats, a dog, and several turtles two or three times, and getting to see and experience everyone's unique personalities was a delight. There was the elderly Russian Blue gentleman who needed to be gently reminded of where his food was every meal time, the skittish but snuggly rescue, and of course, the sociable and vocal tabby, who carried on many long kitchen conversations with me throughout my time there.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I do! I currently live with three cats: Gnocchi, a big beautiful black-and-white Holstein cow of a cat with the soul of a languishing noblewoman or perhaps a despondent clerk of some sort; Nori, a sleek black wiggler who likes to Observe and Ponder before gracing us with her presence; and baby Sesame, who is quickly growing into a dedicated Shoulder Cat and professional Nuisance
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
I lived with an escape artist cat for many, many years! No exterior doors are ever opened carelessly, no windows ever left open unattended, and no cupboards or closets closed without a thorough check that no one is hiding out in there. I also always bring basic human and animal first-aid supplies with me to every job, and keep vet and emergency numbers easily visible. I treat the security of your home as seriously as my own. I'm meticulous about locking doors, bringing in mail and newspapers, and following any additional protocols my clients might use.

Did an excellent job keeping me informed about Gumdrop. He was reliable, arrived on time, and we are so grateful he was able to work on short notice to stay overnight on a holiday weekend. Owein is a very competent cat sitter. My cat, Pekoe, loved him. I returned from my trip to find the house in good order and even the bedding washed and dried. He kept plants alive and my house and yard secure. He’s very pleasant and trustworthy. I am so sorry he’s moved away. You are lucky if you have him to housesit and care for your cats.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.

Columbia cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $27.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
