I currently have three cats of my own that I love dearly and are all different, so I am incredibly familiar with different personalities, energy levels, boundaries, and any specific care that could be required. I am also familiar with providing different entertaining enrichments for high energy cats. I have a senior cat has needed oral medication frequently in the past, and I am experienced with giving him plenty of patience and care since things do not come as easily to him. Due to these different experiences and personalities within my cats, I believe I have almost any type of experience you could need.

Hello my fellow cat lovers! Are you looking for the purrfect cat sitter to give your fur babies the best care? Well look no further and hear meowt as I tell you why I possess the qualifications that you could be looking for!

In my past, I was also a Pet Care Specialist at a pet store. This gave me extensive knowledge on animal care, animal handling, enrichment, proper sanitation protocols, different animal diets, and general knowledge regarding cats, dogs, birds, reptiles, rodents, and exotic animals. I was also trained to administer medications orally (liquid and pill form), topically, and subcutaneously.

My primary occupation is an Operations Specialist for a cellular company. The specific tasks involved in my full time job require extreme attention to detail, patience, and precision, which I believe are also critical skills when it comes to pet sitting.

I have always had anxiety when it came to leaving my cats when traveling, so I can really empathize with the feelings of concern many have for their beloved pets. This is why I want to be someone who can be relied on to ensure that your fur babies are taken care of properly while you’re away.

I am willing to travel to various areas surrounding Knoxville and am usually available any time from 6am-7:30am and after 4pm on weekdays and usually any availability during weekends and most holidays. I can usually be very flexible depending on the situation and am willing to talk through anything, so don’t hesitate to reach out beforehand if you have any questions/concerns :)

Thanks for taking the time to read about why I could be a good fit for you!

Learn More About Jace

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I have cat sit for friends, family, and coworkers since I was 18. I have had cats since I was young, and I currently have cats now. I also have been gained more experience through the wonderful Meowtel app!

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I enjoy being able to play and engage with cats of all personalities, different boundaries, and learning little quirks they have.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

Yes! Milo, my old sweet man (17yrs), Monet my princess with her tortitude (9yrs), and Matt my distinguished gentleman (he’s a tuxedo pattern haha) (12yrs)

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

I would ensure they meet your needs and that you feel confident in your choice, not feeling like you’re “settling” for someone. I would also make sure they’re willing to answer your questions, be consistent with communication, and be friendly and experienced.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

I believe the best way to go about communicating with a new cat parent would to see what their needs are, their priorities, concerns, and questions are. From there, I would suggest a meet and greet and a run down of everything they would like me to be aware of. I would stay in consistent communication with the cat parent, while sending photo updates. I would also not hesitate to reach out if I had questions regarding anything.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

Be aware of my surroundings, consistently check for any behavioral changes, make sure to close and lock doors behind me, watch where I am stepping, understand the boundaries of the cat I am sitting, and be aware of any quick or sudden movements I’m making that could startle the kitty.

Are you usually available during holidays?

I usually have holidays off from my primary job, so I am willing to be flexible with a cat parent’s needs and discuss scheduling :)

What is your favorite cat toy?

Toys with feathers or wand toys. My cats prefer feather toys due to the primal instincts it can bring out. One of my cats also loves crinkle balls and plays fetch with them!

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I give them plenty of space, patience, and respect their boundaries and prioritize these first three steps. I will talk to them in a calm and sweet tone while not making any quick or sudden movements if they’re okay with me being in close proximity. I would assess what movements and tones are acceptable and try my best to accommodate those to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for the cat.

Jace is an amazing cat sitter. We had a situation where the cleaning crew left the door open overnight, and our cats had gotten out. Jace contacted me to let me know what was happening and gathered all the cats and brought them inside. He also made sure everything was ok in the house and with the cats. He is worth his weight in gold.

Jace could have not been better! He was so thorough and kind to our kitties. Jace really is the “cat whisperer”. He was able to give our senior cat her medicine with minimal protest. He was also able to get our “scared boy” to want attention and pet. He kept us updated with pictures and videos throughout our vacation. I would absolutely book with Jace again.

Jace has been absolutely fantastic taking care of our two fur-babies! I especially want to mention how patient he was with my Jezebel who had just begun insulin injections a week prior to him caring for her. He made what could have been a stressful situation for her and my other cat, Toby, into an enjoyable experience for both of them. I highly recommend Jace and will be using him again in the future.

Aunt Bea always knows when I am leaving on vacay; and she's not happy about it. That's why it's such a relief to know that Jace is looking in on her with such care and attention. The photos and videos he sends show how much she enjoys the time together--getting pets, head scratches and playtime. Always five stars from Jace!!

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

Knoxville cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $24.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet!
