I grew up with cats and have raised over a dozen from birth. I have experience with young kittens, special needs, and elderly cats including administering medication and bottle-feeding. I do not currently have any cats so sitting is my opportunity to get some kitty love therapy.
As far as administering medications, I have experience mostly with oral liquid and pill medications. While I have never had to give my furry friends injections, I have had to give myself injectable medications and am willing to learn how to administer injectable medications on the kitties I will work with.

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
I took care of two of the sweetest elderly cats! One had the scratchiest meow I’ve ever heard and man did she go crazy for her food. Her sister was blind and needed medications and could be a little grumpy during medication time but would come sit by me after being fed.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
I had a few escape artist cats in my time so I make sure to close all doors and windows when I’m there and to double check any hidey-holes in the cat’s environment to make sure they aren’t stuck somewhere.
Are you usually available during holidays?
Yes, I actually prefer working holidays because I am a great sitter and love to allow my clients to visit their loved ones or travel to fun places without stress and worry over their cat(s).

Megan did not take notes during our meet and greet, which was somewhat surprising as I went through the details of my cat’s needs and how to get in and out of the house. I trusted she had a good memory, but on the first day Megan locked herself out of our place. Further, when we arrived home my cat had no food or water left in her bowl, making me wonder if she had even visited as she stated she had or if she’d just timed her photos. It was scary to arrive home to empty bowls for my cat. I wondered how long they’d been like that. I will not be hiring Megan again.

Megan did a fantastic job taking care of my two cats while I was away for 10 days!! One of them requires multiple medications at specifically scheduled times and Megan was incredibly flexible with the scheduling and was able to administer the meds with no problem. She sent daily pics and updates while I was away and communicated with me regularly. Highly recommend her to anyone who is looking for a trustworthy and skilled sitter!

Megan was wonderful! My two little old ladies instantly warmed up to her during our meet and greet (not an easy feat). She sent me detailed messages and cute pics (why don't they ever pose for me like that?) each visit. Travel was much less stressful knowing she was taking such good care of my girls. I have a special needs senior that needs medication twice a day and she was very patient with her. I will definitely be reaching out to Megan again next time I travel.

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:
- January 1-4: New Year's 2026
- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Joshua cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $21.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
