I freelanced as a cat sitter for family, friends and friends of friends since 2011 before joining Meowtel in 2022. I am so grateful to Meowtel for the opportunity to go meet so many amazing clients and their unique and sweet kitties.
Growing up I was just always good with cats, I respect them, I let them come to me and don't try to rush anything and have been rewarded with the trust and affection of some of the sweetest and shyest cats. I've been told so many times "wow, they're never that sweet with other people". It really touches me when I know I've made a cat feel comfortable.
It means a lot to me to be able to gain a cat's trust and make them feel safe... Hello I am Kyla, a lifelong cat-lover and I feel so blessed to be able to use that love to help others and turn it into a job.

I've looked after kittens as young as 5 weeks and cats as old as 20 as well worked in houses with 5 cats with various medical conditions that don't play well with others to houses with 9 cats who are all on the reclusive side. I've loved them all and would be happy to meet and help more kitty friends.
While based in Lancaster, I am happy to commute all over the DFW metroplex to cities such as Arlington, Waxahachie, Irving, and surrounding areas!
With my own cats and others I have looked after, I have had experience administering a lot of different medications over the years from topical sprays and ointments to pills that go in the food and medicine that is squirted in the mouth and eardrops as well.
I am a big reader, crafter, and a substitute teacher. I like to keep busy and help others so try to keep my schedule pretty open. I'd love to become a regular sitter for you and your kitties. Thanks for taking a look at my page. I look forward to meeting you and your cats!

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I have been catsitting since 2011 and with Meowtel since 2022. I started out just working for friends and family and then it became friends of friends and then it just kept blossoming and I loved doing it so I thought I would pursue doing it in a more professional capacity and Meowtel was there for me and I really loved working for the service. I have worked with 6 week old kittens to 19-year-old cats. Households with 1 easygoing guy to a house with 5 cats with medical needs and medications.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I currently have two kitties! A two year old blondey orange goblin named Zephyr. His brain is full of flaming hot Cheeto dust and I love him so much. He is now the great big brother to my little Ferdinand. Ferdinand is a little black and white cow baby. He is is still just a little guy and loves playing with Zephyr and flopping and sprawling about like a noodle. I love my silly boys so much.
Are you usually available during holidays?
I usually am available on holidays. when it comes to Christmas, My family alternates celebrating on Christmas versus Christmas Eve so whatever day I'm celebrating with my family I will take in one reservation for the day (which is on a first come basis) and then for the rest of the holiday I keep my schedule wide open and try to accommodate as many clients as I can.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I have worked with a lot of shy cats. Typically I believe in letting them dictate contact and allowing them the space to get to know me and come to me on their own terms. I feel grateful that my methods usually result in a good relationship with the cat and that they feel safe enough and understood and are willing to come out for me and interact. Some cats are tougher nut to crack and I might just hang out by the bed they hide under just so they can hear my voice and understand I'm not a threat and that I'm not going to drag them out and I just want to know that they're okay. Sometimes, i might leave a pair of Crocs with some cat treats scattered by them when I leave so that the cats can associate my smell with good things.

Kyla was great! my babies loved her! Matilda is my social baby and was always happy to see Kyla. Penelope is my shy baby and eventually warmed up to Kyla at the end. Kyla had to trap Penelope daily for meds hahaha and the photos that Kyla took of Penelope’s face after each dose was hilarious! But Penelope looked less mad at the end! Kyla’s communication was so great! And she comes up with the cutest nicknames for them! Highly recommend! She took great care of my babies! Thank you, Kyla!!!

Kyla was very caring with Honeypuff and took to our kitty right away. Our cat had a little difficulty adjusting after we first left, and Kyla remained in good communication, sending lots of pictures and videos. She was flexible following new/changing instructions and respectful with our home. She follows written and video instructions well and was responsive to my needs (I am an anxious cat mama) - I would definitely trust her to watch Honeypuff again 💜thank you so much, Kyla!

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Lancaster cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $28.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.
We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Kyla did a great job! She was available with short notice and spent the night with my baby. She sent multiple pictures and updates about how it was going, and I could tell my cat wasn’t as anxious when I got home as she would’ve been without Kyla’s visit. I’d definitely hire her again!

Kyla was incredibly helpful and accommodating with my cat. I have a fairly strict medication schedule, including early morning doses, and she handled it all without hesitation. My cat, Spade, is usually shy around new people, but she warmed up to Kyla right away—and absolutely loved the ear scratches! I felt completely at ease knowing she was caring for her. Her updates and photo check-ins were thoughtful and consistent. I’ll definitely be booking with her again for any future trips.

Kyla is a lovely person! She took great care of my kitty while I was away! She sent great photos and updates everyday. When the app was acting wonky, she texted me the updates. She knew how much my cat loved his brush and that I could not find a replacement for it, and she brought me a brand new one that was similar that she had that she wasn’t using. It was so sweet! I highly recommend using Kyla to watch over your furry loved one and I’ll be definitely using her again in the future!

Kyla was great! My girls really seemed to like her. I didn’t really have any instructions as the girls didn’t require much but she took really good care of them while I was away. This was my first time leaving my cats overnight for a few days. Kyla was absolutely amazing and made me feel like they were in such great, knowledgable and safe hands. Although one of my cats is very shy and did not come out to say hello, she gave me great daily food updates that really assured me that both my cat and kitten were eating. Kyla is AMAZING! My sweet girl is extremely shy around new people and within the first day or two Kyla had her out from under the bed and rolling over for pets. Kyla is literally the best cat-sitter I have ever worked with. I have had my kitty for 10 years, so I've worked with a lot of sitters but Kyla is by far the best. Not only does she wipe my kitty's goopy eye, but on my most recent trip I had forgotten to leave a key (Yikes!) and Kyla made sure that she stayed in touch with me until I could send a key in overnight mail.
