Cats have always been a huge part of my life outside of pet sitting. I’ve been involved in animal rescue for over 10 years through the Henrico Humane Society and independently in my community. I rescue and foster kittens, help with stray and feral cats, and participate in Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR)... Hi! I’m Katie, a lifelong animal lover with over two years of professional pet-sitting experience. I’ve completed hundreds of pet-sitting visits and have earned 75+ five-star reviews from pet parents. I have experience caring for cats of all ages, personalities, and needs, from outgoing kittens to shy, fearful, senior, and special-needs cats.
Cats have always been a huge part of my life outside of pet sitting. I’ve been involved in animal rescue for over 10 years through the Henrico Humane Society and independently in my community. I rescue and foster kittens, help with stray and feral cats, and participate in Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR). I seem to always be the person friends, family, and neighbors call when they find a stray cat or kitten and need help figuring out what to do.
I also completed the two-year ACE Center Veterinary Science program and earned my ELANCO Veterinary Medical Applications certification. My training includes safe animal handling, medication administration, feeding and nutrition, disease prevention, sanitation, grooming, and pet first aid. I’m comfortable caring for cats with medical or special needs and understand the extra patience and attention they may require.
During visits, I follow your cat’s lead. Some cats want all the cuddles and playtime, while others prefer their space until they feel comfortable, and I fully respect both! I’ll make sure your cat has fresh food and water, a clean litter box, enrichment and playtime, and plenty of love when they want it. I’ll also keep you updated so you can relax knowing your cat is safe, comfortable, and well cared for while you’re away.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I have been pet sitting for over 2 years and have completed hundreds of drop-in visits with cats. I’ve experienced all the different kinds of personalities from them.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I’m a cat lover so I’ve always enjoyed taking care of them the most. It makes me very happy when I can win over a timid kitty!
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I always give the kitties time and space to feel me out on their own schedule before proceeding. Sometimes it can take a couple of visits, and treats. :)

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Henrico cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $31.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
