With more timid kitties, I’ve found that sitting on the floor with a treat and allowing them to approach me at their own pace works wonders.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

Yes! I have five :) their names are Enzo, Mimo, Tito, Shelly, and Remy. Enzo, Mimo, and Shelly were all fosters who I ended up adopting; Tito is a former stray who I brought back from Turkey; and I rescued Remy in Richmond the day after I moved here!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

As a cat guardian myself, I know that trusting strangers to take care of our precious kitties can be hard. Letting the sitter know you’re anxious is always helpful—that way, I can make sure to address any of those anxieties during our meet and greet.

Cecilia was a delight to work with! She’s very communicative and does a great job with specific care instructions/needs. One of my cats needed oral and eye medications and she handled it like a pro! I’m very grateful to have had her help while I was out of town and would absolutely recommend her to anyone in the area looking for a cat sitter.

Cecelia was wonderful! She accommodated my last minute request and then was able to do one morning more when my flight was cancelled. She was super communicative and sent lots of detailed updates and photos. I highly recommend her and would use her again.

Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.

All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.
