Hi! I’m Hannah, the heart behind Animal Auntie Pet Care.

I specialize in calm, reliable drop-in visits designed around your cat’s comfort and routine. Whether your cat is social and playful or shy and observant, I meet them where they are. I move slowly, respect boundaries, and let them warm up on their terms.

During visits I provide fresh food and water, litter care, enrichment or playtime (if they’re in the mood), medication if needed, and detailed updates so you always know how your cat is doing. I’m insured and trained in pet CPR and first aid.

What sets me apart is patience. I understand that cats thrive on routine and quiet energy, and I take pride in creating a stress-free experience while you’re away.

Your cat isn’t just a booking to me. They’re family!

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I’ve been caring for animals since 2010 and professionally providing pet care through Animal Auntie Pet Care since 2025. Over the years I’ve worked with shy cats, seniors, playful kittens, and multi-cat households. Many of my cat clients book recurring visits or week-long stays every couple of months, so I’m very comfortable maintaining routines and building long-term trust. I’m certified in pet CPR and first aid, fully insured, and experienced with administering medications when needed. Cat sitting isn’t just about food and litter. It’s about reading body language, respecting boundaries, and creating a calm, safe space while you’re away. That’s always my focus.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

What I enjoy most about cat sitting is earning a cat’s trust. There is something really special about watching a shy kitty slowly feel safe enough to come closer, blink at you, or settle down nearby. I love learning each cat’s personality and tailoring my visits to what makes them feel comfortable. Some want playtime and enrichment, others just want quiet companionship, and I truly enjoy meeting them where they are. Knowing I can reduce stress for both the cat and their owner while they’re away is incredibly rewarding.

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

One of my favorite reservations was with a shy cat who would hide under the bed at the start of every visit. I kept my movements slow and calm, talked softly, and never pushed interaction. By the end of the stay, she was coming out to sit a few feet away from me and even accepted a few gentle pets. Watching that trust build day by day was so meaningful. Moments like that remind me why patience and respect matter so much in cat care.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

Yes! I have two kitties at home. Buddy is a talkative American tabby boy who loves to chat, and Lilly is a shy, cautious dilute tortie who takes her time to feel comfortable. Caring for them has taught me how important it is to honor every cat’s personality and move at their pace. I bring that same gentle, patient approach to every visit I do. Whether your cat loves playtime, cuddles, or quiet companionship, I make sure they feel safe, loved, and happy while you’re away. I enjoy building trust with every cat I meet and helping them feel calm and confident in their own home. Your kitty isn’t just a pet—they’re family, and I treat them that way. Choosing me means choosing care, attention, and patience tailored to exactly what your cat needs.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

Choose someone who truly understands cats, not just someone who “likes animals.” Cats thrive on routine, patience, and respect. Ask how the sitter handles shy or anxious kitties, how they communicate during visits, and what they would do in an emergency. You should feel completely comfortable and confident leaving your cat and your home in their care. Trust your gut. When you find the right fit, you will feel it.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

I always start with a meet and greet so I can learn your cat’s routine, personality, favorite spots, feeding schedule, and any medical needs. I take notes and ask thoughtful questions because the little details matter. During visits, I follow your instructions closely while also adjusting to your cat’s mood that day. After each visit, I send detailed updates and photos so you never have to wonder how things are going. My goal is to make your time away stress free for both you and your cat.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

Safety is my top priority every single visit. I double check doors and windows, follow feeding and medication instructions carefully, and stay aware of anything that could pose a risk. I never rush visits and I always make sure your cat is settled before I leave. I am insured and certified in pet CPR and first aid, so you can feel confident knowing your cat is in prepared and responsible hands.

Are you usually available during holidays?

Yes, I do offer holiday care because I know that is when dependable help matters most. Holidays tend to book quickly, so I always recommend reaching out early. I do my best to prioritize consistency for my regular clients while welcoming new ones when I have availability.

What is your favorite cat toy?

I love laser pointers. The little butt wiggle before they pounce is one of my favorite things to watch. It is pure cat magic. I always make sure to end laser play with a physical toy or treat so they get that satisfying “catch.” Of course, every cat has their own preferences, so I tailor playtime to what makes them feel confident and happy.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

For timid or anxious cats, I always let them set the pace. I approach slowly, speak softly, and allow them to come to me rather than forcing interaction. I focus on creating a calm, predictable environment by keeping visits consistent, maintaining routines, and offering gentle encouragement through treats or toys if they’re interested. My goal is always to make them feel safe and respected, so they can relax and enjoy the visit on their own terms.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet!
