What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I have been cat sitting along with other animal sitting for the past 15 years, I am actually a hairstylist of 30 years but in Maryland my hair clients were family to me so I also would spend time helping them with their animals while they stepped out for a day or went on vacation or just had a busy career. they knew me for years so they trusted me in their homes and with their pets and that is my goal in Washington is to make friends here human and feline.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I enjoy two things, one giving the owner time to travel or spend time out of the house without feeling sad to leave their cat behind knowing that they will feel lonely without their presence and it makes me happy to bond with a cat. I take it as a real compliment whenever I bond with a cat because they’re pretty particular, dogs are easy they like everybody if they have treats, but cats have a different sense and they’re more particular so I love it that I am a cat person and they seem to know that very, very quickly and become comfortable with me.

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

my favorite cat sitting was a cat that I frequently spent time with, his name is Tux, A beautiful tuxedo Maine coon. It took a few months before he would even acknowledge my presence when I would come to stay with him. He just didn’t seem to pay a whole lot of attention in the beginning so I just was very patient and I could always tell that he felt comfortable with me and in time he would come right to me as I entered the home. The family got a puppy, and that did not sit well with him they eventually asked me if I would like to adopt him and so I did! He was an amazing cat!

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

Tux passed from old age in 2020, then I still had Luna, a beautiful Himalayan, and she died from cancer at the age of 18 in 2023. At the moment I live with roommates that when I get my own apartment, I will definitely rescue a cat!

This was my first time using a pet sitter besides family members. I was very nervous especially since my cat was just diagnosed with diabetes and having health issues. Allison was wonderful! She sent text and photo updates throughout the day. She was flexible to our personal needs and confirmed once Sailor had his new daily medication. It was such a relief knowing he was being cared for by someone who has experience giving medication and my spicy cat warmed up to her. When I got home Sailor looked so much healthier, he is already healing and I owe a huge Thank You to Allison!

Cancellation Policy

Cat parents may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a full refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Cat parents will receive a full refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Cat parents will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the cat parent cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.
