I've been assisting with catsitting jobs ever since I was in middle school. Several years ago, I was asked personally to star... I'm Loryn, and I've lived in the Olympia area for almost my whole life, and have owned cats for just as long! My current cat, who can be seen in my gallery, is named Coyote and he is the politest little guy ever.
I've been assisting with catsitting jobs ever since I was in middle school. Several years ago, I was asked personally to start catsitting for a client, and I've loved it and wanted to do more ever since. I am very excited to have the opportunity to do so on Meowtel, and I can accept clients from anywhere in the Olympia-Lacey-Tumwater area!
Please note that I'm currently unable to look after cats that need injections or oral medicine (food additives are fine).

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
During an initial meeting, I go over the basics like feeding times and routines, litterbox changing, and anything else important. I make sure to take notes on what was covered in the meeting immediately after it finishes. I also ask about their cat's personality and typical behaviors, and I will see if the cat is interested in approaching and greeting me so they can be familiar with me before I start watching over them.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
When I arrive at a home for catsitting, I ensure I physically see each cat at least once while I'm there, to confirm that they're inside and safe. I'm also very alert when opening exterior doors to ensure there are no escape attempts, and I always double-check locks before leaving. To respect privacy, I avoid going into bedrooms unless it's necessary in order to check on a cat or access a litterbox.
Are you usually available during holidays?
I will almost always be available to catsit during holidays, as I typically do not plan to travel during them.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I let them go at their own pace and I always respect their limits. If they need to hide or don't want to be touched, that's okay. What's most important to me is their own comfort level.

I'm so glad I met Loryn to care for my furbaby! She did a great job and I look forward to having her care for Rooney again in the near future. Everything was in perfect order. Rooney was relaxed, but happy to see me! He's a bit shy with anyone new, but I could tell from the pictures she sent each day that he appreciated Loryn papping in to check on him while I was gone. Maybe next time she won't be just a curiosity, but he'll adopt her!

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:
- January 1-4: New Year's 2026
- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th
- September 4-10: Labor Day
- October 9-15: Columbus Day / Indigenous Peoples' Day
- November 8-14: Veterans Day
- November 23-29: Thanksgiving

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Olympia cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $29.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Loryn has been our go-to cat sitter for the past two years.
