What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I have worked as a vet tech/assistant for over 13 years and as a pet sitter for over 15 years. I can give meds of all kinds.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

Meeting so many kitties! I can't get enough!

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

In Colorado I took care of a kitty so often that I became his godmother. Yes, a kitty godmother!

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I have 4 kitties! They are all siblings rescued from a stack of tires when their mama didn't come back. My husband and I bottle fed and couldn't part with them. They are now 12 years old and spoiled. Bowie Mason Ty Nugget

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

Trust your gut! Ask all the questions and listen to the ones they ask. Details matter.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

I would meet with the pet parent so we both have a chance to get to know each other to make sure the fit is good on both ends. If we choose to move forward, I would go over questions to help me learn about their routine and care guidelines for their pet(s). I'm open to answering as many questions they may have because I know it is tough to leave your pets care in the hands of someone else.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

When coming inside the home I do what I call "entering skinny". I only open the door as much as needed to allow my body to fit through while always looking for pets at my feet. Once inside I always count noses to make sure every pet is there and accounted for.

Are you usually available during holidays?

For the most part I am available for at least daily visits.

What is your favorite cat toy?

The birdie! It's the feathers on a string and you hold the stick to play with the kitties.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I typically let them come to me when they are ready. I'll sit near the area they are in and "ignore" them. If they are food motivated I will try treats or a favorite toy. In over 15 years I haven't met a cat I haven't won over at least a little bit. I never force my love but will eagerly give it if they allow me to.

This was my first time using Meowtel and Danessa and I’m happy to report it was a success! I immediately felt comfortable with Danessa at our meet & greet, and she did not disappoint. I have an older kitty who is prone to intestinal distress, so I was worried about leaving him for 2 weeks. Danessa was so communicative and responsive, detailed in her daily visit messages, sent pictures and videos. I could tell my cat felt very comfortable with her and it helped me relax and enjoy my vacation. I know my little floof will be excited to see her next time I travel!

Cancellation Policy

Cat parents may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a full refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Cat parents will receive a full refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Cat parents will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the cat parent cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.
