I have felt a deep connection to cats as companion animals throughout my life, starting by wanting to be a cat when I grew up 😸. I cared for many cats growing up, and as an adult I cared for my 3-legged boy - Stitch - for 3 years. My friends have trusted me as their cat & house sitter since 2021, and in the last 3 years, I have been the step-parent to 5 different cats, acting in a care support role for feral, senior, and disabled cats. As a cat whisperer, I understand cats' needs for both routine and novelty.

I specialize in working with historically marginalized communities, with an emphasis on low-income and LGBTQIA+ people. If cost is a barrier to your kitties getting love and care in your absence, please reach out to discuss options.
COVID Protocols: I am fully vaccinated / boosted, and wear a mask when in indoor public spaces. I have ample access to rapid tests and am happy to test before coming to visit. As a member of the disability community myself, I honor and respect the varied needs of people with greater risk of illness, and encourage you to share what will make you most comfortable!
I serve the Pierce County and south King County areas. Please note that I am only available to drop in 2x/day in my 1st service zone (Tacoma). Also, for my privacy, I am not able to do overnight visits in homes with interior / cat video cameras, but cameras are ok for drop-in visits 😻

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I've been sitting with Meowtel since October 2022, but have been informally cat-sitting since July 2021! Prior to that, I've always been the go-to cat whisperer among people who know me, and have spent a lot of time reading about cat behavior to be someone cats and their humans can trust!
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
Getting to see all the different cat personalities and getting to see them come out of their shells! My ability to empathize with cats gives me a more compassionate perspective toward the diversity of human personalities, particularly the nervous or frightened behavior I experience in myself and others. I also enjoy the freedom that working as an independent contractor offers me, which allows me to negotiate directly with my clients rather than through an intermediary. I find that I can go above and beyond, and offer the best possible cat-stomer service when I am my own boss
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
Yes! A beautiful silver TNR tabby showed up at my partner's house in July 2025 and adopted us. She is playful, independent, and a big climber/burrower. Tacoma Humane named her Euphrates when they tipped her; we call her Ephie. I also co-parent my roommates' three senior cats Villie, Mochi, and Moon.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
Be prepared with a vet release form, emergency contact numbers, and a cat carrier, just in case! 99/100 you won't need it, but it can help put yours and your sitter's minds at ease. Also, share your estimated departure/return itinerary, and of course any purreferences or purrticularites your kitty has for their food, environment, how they like to be touched and/or played with!
Are you usually available during holidays?
Yes! I celebrate holidays that are not usually aligned with federal bank holidays, and those will already be blocked off of my calendar. I love being available to help support other people relaxing and celebrating with their loved ones.
What is your favorite cat toy?
Wand/flyer/bird toys! I love them because they are much more interactive than other toys, and I can better emulate the stalk/catch/kill play cycle for cats with it. Plus if the kitty has sharp claws, they go into the toy, not me! I also love DIY toys, like shoestrings and cardboard tube treat puzzles. Ask me about how different kinds of toys emulate different kinds of prey! Some breeds like other prey better than others, so if your kitty doesn't like to play, maybe they just have the wrong toy!
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
1) I try NEVER to push a cat's boundaries. If they don't want to play, be touched, or held, I don't push it! 2) I will make myself look less intimidating by avoiding direct eye contact, not blocking any exit routes, and laying flat on the floor with a hand outstretched so THEY can approach ME. 3) I use Feliway (cat pheromones) and cat treats to encourage relaxation and trust-building. 4) I will sometimes leave an article of clothing, like a hat or scarf, where the kitty likes to rest on multi-day visits so they can get used to my scent when they're alone and feel safer.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Tacoma cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $28.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

This was the first time we had someone other than us take care of our kitties and Calvin really helped make this a carefree and trusting experience! They communicated well, were proactive in planning, thoughtful about details and asking questions, listened carefully, and just generally great to work with. While one cat was predictably shy, the other one Calvin was able to get him to play and take treats. we could tell from the photos and videos that our cats were comfortable with Calvin and that they were taking good care of our babies! My kitty is a little lovebug but can also be temperamental, especially when stressed. Calvin handled her like a pro, kept cool, and gave her all the cuddles and scritches she needed to get thru my absence. The house looks great and I returned to a kitty who was clearly well-cared for. Calvin did an excellent job taking care of our two boys. Our cats are very shy around strangers, so I can't rate Calvin on how well the played with our boys, but they did a good job with the food, water and litter box cleaning, then spent some of the remaining time quietly waiting to see if anyone was going to be brave and peek out. Calvin sent regular updates on what they did, and we used our cameras to keep track of the boys. I highly recommend Calvin as a cat sitter!
