Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I have 5 cats at home currently, and have had several others. Their names are: Pumpkin(4 years)- playful and sweet orange cat Annie(10 years)-reserved black cat Loki(2 years)-mischievous but playful orange cat Chip & Dale(7 years)- grey striped/russian blue maine coons!

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

I have had a cat escape before, and it was a horrible feeling that I would never wish upon anyone. As the caretaker of your cat(s), it is my responsibility to make sure they are properly taken care of/secured and safe overall. I always open doors slowly and close and lock them quickly behind me. I make sure that all things dangerous to kitties are out of reach, whether that is plants, food, cleaning products, or small things that they could potentially swallow. Protecting your cats comes with making sure their home is properly locked up every single time, and making sure all entry/exit points are not left open or accessible, by an human or animal.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I usually have 2 strategies to gain trust or a timid or anxious cat. I know it is weird having a stranger in your home, so I try to do things that will bring comfort to the cat, such as giving it their favorite treats, bringing out their favorite toy, or rubbing their home scent on my hands/clothes so it seems more familiar to them. I know anxious cats tend to hide under beds or furniture, so I would try to get them to come out on their own accord so they know that they are safe to do as they please. If I have no success with getting a shy kitty to come out, I will do everything else in my power to properly take care of them and let them be. Sometimes cats want space too, and thats okay!

Cancellation Policy

Cat parents may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a full refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Cat parents will receive a full refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Cat parents will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the cat parent cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.
